Tony Yoka vs Dave Allen set for june 23rd in France

Allen is a decent opponent. Went 7 rounds with Ortiz and 10 with Whyte. He isn't that easy to crack. Yoka has to prove if he is a legit prospect in such a fight. An early and convincing stoppage like Joyce vs Thomas would be a good sign. Looking forward to this.

 

Yeah, good fight. Yoka is a bit of a fraud IMHO so who knows, perhaps we could have an upset. Pity it's in France.

 

His gold medal was super dodgy, and he hasn't looked good so far in the pros. In fact he's been hurt by some of the journeymen he's faced so far ... Here's @CST80's opinion:

That might be a bit of hyperbole, and admittedly Yoka is decent and should win this, but I don't think he's going far.

 

joyce was robbed against yoka and the only reason he won was so that they could tell the story of yoka and his girlfriend both winning gold medals

True. And because of that, it would be poetic justice if Allen defeats him.

 

So the new French hype job at heavy is taking on the British hype job at heavy from a couple of years ago. Cool.

Hey. This isn't Yoka/Price!

 

Before he was exposed, yes. I can't say how much of it was serious and how much was tongue in cheek but when he was undefeated people were crowing about him plowing through AJ.

 

I think I take Price more seriously than Allen, personally.

 

Dave Allen must win so we can make puns about him cracking a yoka.

Also he seems like a really nice bloke.

Besides, we can't have anyone being gifted a decision in the Olympic heavyweight final now can we? Oh no, that's not cricket...

 

Yoka knocks out Allen inside 4 rounds.

Allen has miles on the clock now through fights and sparring in between, and Yoka is not getting paid for overtime.
