Since you ask, once again gong for The Man Of Steel, see him as being a bit too rugged and a mite too tough for Turpin, both stopped 5 times so not Hagler like chins, given that Mitri ( not renowned for his punching power ) stopped Randy in 1 round , and with a left hook ! also Olsen mauled and knocked down Turpin numerous times, feel sure Zale could do same, the win would be easier if it was post the SRR win, the decline was rapid, and Randy was nether quite the same fighter albeit still the best on these shores for a while, mind you Ray is on record has having Turpin as the strongest fighter he ever fought, high praise indeed. stay safe amigo.
Mike and @George Crowcroft , I'm inclined to agree. Randy was a terrific "On top" Fighter. He did carry awesome power though. This would have been an absolute thriller between a powerful box fighter and an all out banger. I doubt it would go past 6 or 7 rounds. Of course, we are presuming this is a peak Turpin. As a post script, As a young amateur, there were old pro's hanging around the Birmingham City Gym who had known Turpin. Some had boxed on the same shows or shared a gym with him. Let me tell you, he was revered, mentioned in hushed tones, low whistles, cheeks puffed out. This was the flat nosed cauliflower eared brigade too. Randy must have been quite something.
