I doubt Hank would do any better against those two; he was easily outboxed by Gene Armstrong. On the flipside, Zale outboxed big punching Al Hostak before taking him out. Hank could pose problems, but I don't see him having the general skill, class, or consistency to take a peak Zale.
To tell you the truth the combination of Hank probably really getting up for this fight because its for the title and the 15 round distance could make this a hell of a fight. He always seemed like a slower starter in the fights Ive seen and read about of his..but a strong finisher. Maybe the 15 round distance gives him more time for his bombs to take effect? Id take Zale's consistency to get him through..I actually think he was a pretty underrated ring general..but man what a fight it would be.
That was hardly Hank's style. I doubt he'd be out of his waters duking it out with any MW to be quite honest. And My2Sense, I wouldn't say Armstrong easily out-boxed him. I had the fight about 6 rounds to 4. Very competitive matchup. Hank's flaw, as always, seemed to be his tendancy to let the foot off the pedal too much, which allowed the better boxers he faced to outwork him for stretches that often cost him the fight on the cards.
