He says it is a last resort defensive move if you are for some reason caught with your hands down. Jake Lamotta used to roll with the punches to take there power off of them. I think it is an effective defensive move granted the fighter has good reflexes and doesn't just stand there. Only the experienced fighter should attempt it. Use with caution.

Yes, what they do is sightly different from what the guy in the video is doing. He is saying to turn your head whereas what they do is roll with the punch. Same effect just slightly different movement.
