I think the general consensus is that Miguel Cotto is spent after his loss to Manny(or even back to Margarito). I think Miguel stands a good chance of a strong come back having only 2 losses, one to a cheating piece of ****, and one to Margarito.... just kidding, but I couldnt resist. I think in his Pacquiao fight he showed he can box well against and he can damage someone who is probably the fastest fighter in the world right now. Is it fair to say "Ok, cotto lost, he's done" or can we agree that the style of fighting he has, has it's place and I think he has a good chance of coming back to beat some very serious contenders in some very interesting fights. I personally thought he was hitting pacquiao with punches he rarely ever received, and his face after the fight was worse than after either marquez fight. I think he had a good showing against a man at the peak of physical ability, and deserves credit for making that fight what it was, exciting. Plus he has my favorite jab in the sport right now.

Way too early.. i still favor him to beat some of the title holder at 147. I could see him beating berto and even mosley. I still want to see him fight margarito again and mayweather.

Hes fought most of the best @ 147. They all were good fights. Just cause he lost to 2 top fighters doesnt mean anything.

Cotto will continue to bring great fights to the public!

You people forget that Cotto is more than a fighter, he's a human being. The way he's been getting pummelled as of late shows that he can't defend himself in the ring, he needs to quit before he's seriously hurt in the ring. A fighter just died the other day. Even you look at the NFL they are trying to better deal with players getting concussions.

I don't think he'll be back. Sure, he'll fight again, but he's not going to the top. He seemed way to comfortable with losing. Once a boxer learns how to lose, it becomes easier and easier to lose. Somewhere in the middle of the fight. Cotto became a beaten man, and more importantly, he began to fight like one.

Also, go watch the post fight interview with Larry Merchant, Cotto sounded as if his speech was slurred.

It's not only losing , but how you lose. Cotto took a couple of prolonged beatings in losing, and endured punishment even while winning. Down against Torres, wobbled against DeCorley, rocked and sliced against Judah, and almost bled out against Clottey.
Cotto's shelf life might be close to expiring.

Early enough if his tightwad ass refuses to pay for a real Trainer an Elite to improve and add layers to his game. Then he will always be susceptible to someone who can take a punch and in return drill his ass as has already been demonstrated.

I dont think people trully realise what Cotto has been through in the last four or so years. Almost every fight bar Gomez + Jennings he has been hurt, rocked in case case stopped and in the other despite the handwrap issue he submitted.

Cotto is a very old 28/29 I dont expect him to get back into elite status, I know that 2 years ago Cotto was the king of 147, but do you honestly expect the Cotto we have seen since that fight to beat Mosley again if they fought in 6 months? Clottey?

Cotto will carry on now doubt as he will continue to fill MSG, I just dont see him ever being elite again

He will be back. But he needs to improve his defense big time!
Wen you fight the likes of Margo and Pac who are nonstop punching machines, it's disastrous.

He needs a new trainer who will keep him out of these wars, and give him
    the edge Cotto desperately needs.
