The fight is officially on for the Feb 14 HBO card feat. Angulo-Mayorga and Campbell-Funeka.

    What a card!

This has to be posturing from Martinez's camp. No way in hell would Santos agree to a title fight against someone so dangerous on such short noice, especially with Don King as his promoter.

Feb 14 - presumably this would be televised on Versus if it comes through?

I hope we get Martinez - Santos but I wouldn't mind seeing my local boy Travis Simms get the nod against Martinez.

    Good fight either way!

I hope this fight gets done, the inactivity could damage santos like it did before, it would be a great match.

Normally I would agree with you. But Santos have been followed by bad luck his whole career. That's why he doesn't fight more often. Every time he is training for a fight something happens with the opponent. He is not getting any younger and needs to make some money NOW!!

Excellent card. :good Should the Martinez fight come to fruition, this card has a chance to be one of the best in a long time.

Sounds good if he can get trained in time then. I'd pick him to beat Martinez. I'll say late TKO in a fight where he's behind on the cards. If money is what he wants though, I'm surprised he hasn't pushed harder for a fight against Forrest or Williams though.

Agreed. On paper, all three should be close, exciting fights. The Arum PPV the next week is shaping up to be an excellent card as well, if they can get Clottey-Cintron on the card.
