I know a lot of you myself included are tired of all these multiple weightclasses from the old 8 but I could even deal with that but 4 titles in each weightclass to me is pathetic and makes it even more easier to pick and choose fighters. I think going back to a one title per weight class will separate the champs from the others. I think it at least make things a little more interesting
Would be nice if an eccentric billionaire decided he liked boxing and bought out all the stupid different organisations and then just created one belt in each weight class. Never gonna happen but would really sort out a lot of problems in boxing!
Better still would be if boxing were reported and marketed a lot better - everyone's to blame from the commentators to the mainstream news reports to the newspapers - all that needs to happen is for all those mentioned to simply ignore and not even mention any of these belts and just refer to who the man who beat the man as being the champ - they shouldn't even refer to the WBC,s the WBA,s or whoever they should basically say for instance with the heavyweights that Vitali is the man he is the closest heir apparent as Lennox retired rather than honour him with a rematch after he fluked out with a win on a cut after Vit fought tooth and nail with him - lets just get back to common sense - Vladimir has not even been in close connection to the linage - it's Vitali end of - just forget about the belts and the organisations Vitali is the champ end of - this is the way the mainstream news should lay things out aswell - just tell it like it is and stop waffling on about WBC,s and WBA,s - then boxing wouldn't be viewed as the joke that it is by many
it's one of the reasons why i like HBO commentary: they show open disgust and contempt for the alphabets
