Too many tough fights in a row for Juan Diaz?

First of all, I'm a Juan Diaz fan. He is tough as nails, gives his all, fights good fighters, and is entertaining. He also seems to be a decent person.

The only thing I see wrong with Diaz is his willingness to brawl when he doesn't have to. His style is to outwork people, and that's fine, but he needs to be more elusive. Diaz isn't a huge puncher so his power isn't going to be the thing that wins him fights vs. the better fighters that he faces. He has a good chin but he has been bothered by a few cuts. I would also like to see Diaz come in a little more solid, he could probably make 130Lbs.

With that said he looks set to remain a LW. He is fighting Juan Manuel Marquez for the second time on July 31. Marquez beat Diaz by 9th round KO in 2009 in a very exciting fight.

Since the first Marquez fight he has gone 1-1 vs. Paul Malignaggi (W12 and L12).

Diaz has lost 3 out of his last 5 (the other loss not mentioned above was a close loss to Nate Campbell, L12). Prior to that he went 33-0 (17) overall and 8-0 (4) in LW World Title fights. He has beat among others M. Katsidis W12, Julio Diaz W12, and Acelino Freitas KO8.

So... does he have a chance vs. Marquez?

I think Marquez will win much like he did the first time. If Diaz pulls the upset it will be huge for his career. If Diaz loses badly I think he should move to JLW.
