Too small? There's only 5lbs difference between Usyk and Wilder!

OK, that's a slight exaggeration, and relies upon a little guesswork.

But Usyk is a big cruiserweight, and most CWs that move up to heavy for a one off come in at around 215lbs, which is likely their rehydrated weight since they don't have to cut. Let's assume Usyk is 215lbs on fight night. That's only 5lbs lighter than Wider's last recorded fight weight, 220. So why do so many people insist that Usyk's too small to compete with Wilder?

Wilder would likely be the hardest puncher he's ever fought, but Briedis is no slouch in this department either, and one punch KOed a legit 240lbs heavy in Charr. Usyk took his shots no problem.

That leaves Wilder's size (reach essentially), which a fighter of Usyk's calibre would have no problems negating.

So why is this fight considered such a physical mismatch?

I think that the problem is not only in size, in HW you should be either big or "small" but fast and with good punch.

Also Usyk's hands. They are rather short even for a cruiserweighter. And the Half Hybrid's hands :D are huge. :)

Its not weight as it is height and style comparing Wilder.

Wilder operates using a slow cautious approach and he can dictate this bc hes 6'7 and has a 83 inch reach with power.

Usyk uses an aggressive pace and relies on foot movement to get his punches off.

He's going to be 220/225 when he moves up will this hinder him?

It will slow him down, there's a big difference jumping around the ring at 210 compared to 225. Just go watch some of Ali fights.

I think you need power in today's division to win a belt. Parker is the least hard hitting champion but he still has power.

If Wilder can beat Ortiz he can beat Usyk. I think Usyks movement and right game plan can maybe get him a win unless Wilder catches him and starts getting his timing down. It would be competitive BC Wilder has bad balance. The Ortiz fight will tell us more.

Usyk can out point a guy like Parker BC he's flawed and not overly huge but if Joshua is holding them belts and I think he will be expect a mugging if they fight.

Usyk isn’t small, his power is.
