In front of a big and parochial crowd , Robert "gummy" Toomey has stopped Anthony Brownlie in the fifth round of their Aussie lightweight title fight at the Amaroo function centre in Gummys home town of Dubbo. Toomey controlled the fight from the outset and was deadly accurate with his right hand , having the tough Brownlie in trouble several times . In the 3rd round gummy knocked down Brownlie with a combination of both heavy head shots and energy sapping body blows . Brownlie was not without his moments but in the fifth round gummy took complete control of the bout and again knocked Brownlie down , with Brownlie signalling to his corner he had had enough and was unable to continue. A great spectacle while it lasted , with Anthony Brownlie gracious in defeat and Robert Toomey humble in victory .
