This has long been one of my favorite weight divisions ever since I seen the Chacon/Limon/Boza-Edwards wars.....I was curious as to who makes up everyone's top 10 at this weight class...what do you all think???

    Something like this:

    1. Mayweather Jr.
    2. Arguello
    3. Chavez
    4. Nelson
    5. Mitchell
    6. Elorde
    7. Chocolate
    8. Saddler
    9. Serrano
    10. Hernandez

    1. Julio Cesar Chavez
    2. Alexis Arguello
    3. Azumah Nelson
    4. Genaro Hernandez
    5. Alfredo Escallera
    6. Sammy Serrano
    7. Brian Mitchell
    8. Floyd Mayweather jr.
    9. Flash Elorde
    10. John John Molina

also....Tony Lopez, Rafael Limon, Cornelius Boza Edwards, Bobby Chacon, Rocky Lockridge, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Acelino Freitas

    Or something like that.

    On a side note....

....Since its inception in 1963, the WBC super featherweight title has been held by only 24 fighters, including....

    Flash Elorde
    Alfredo Escalera
    Alexis Arguello
    Rafael Limon
    Cornelius Boza Edwards
    Bobby Chacon
    Hector Camacho
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Azumah Nelson
    Jesse James Leija
    Gabriel Ruelas
    Genaro Hernandez
    Floyd Mayweather jr.
    Erik Morales
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Juan Manuel Marquez

I didn't find any other "ABC" belts that came close to having this kind of a history. In an age when there are so many sanctioning organizations and so many weight classes, it appears that the WBC super featherweight title has emerged as probably the most prestigious belt of them all.

    My reasoning....

It's not formulated on a head-to-head basis, nor is it a set-in-stone list. Mayweather could/would have defeated all others on the list, and he did have a lengthy title reign, but ranking him over Hernandez at 130 because he defeated him, would be like ranking Oscar over Chavez at 140 for the same reason IMO. Yes, Oscar may have always defeated Chavez at 140, but we'll never know....what we do know is that Chavez left a great legacy there and Oscar didn't. Same thing with Mayweather and Hernandez....although Mayweather certainly left a greater legacy at 130 than Oscar did at 140. Junior lightweight/superfeatherweight has probably been one of the most talented divisions in the last 30 years or so, so it's just kind of fun to discuss. Actually though, I don't care much for these kinds of lists, or the "debates" that usually arise from them, nor do I put a lot of thought into them.

I believe Mayweather was a much more dominant 130 pound fighter than Hernandez, regardless of their matchup. I don't think it's that comparable to Oscar/Chavez, being as, like you said, Mayweather not only built up a much better run at 130 than Oscar did at 140, but also probably a better(more dominant) one than Hernandez, to go along with being much better head to head.

Floyd might rank #2 for me, behind Arguello, based on having a lesser resume, but in head to head terms, I may favor him.

Could be. I mean, I almost feel like arguing against Mayweather's cause at any weight from 130-140, is almost a losing proposition....where do you find a weakness in the guy's game?....if you do find a weakness, does it even come close overshadowing his strengths?....probably not. I have difficulty with Mayweather sometimes....I find it hard to comprehend that we could be seeing a fighter who's skills are on par with those of SRR....especially when he only fights a couple of times a year. At welterweight I'm confident that there have been at least 5-10 fighters in history who could have/would have beat him....but at 130-140 it's anyone's guess.

At 130 I favor none over him, and he's in league with anyone from 135-140, but I'd certainly favor a few over him. And I agree, there are plenty at Welterweight to beat him.

Hernandez was a very good champion at super-featherweight, but he's at just outside the top 10 IMO. Without question one of the best at the weight over the last 15 years.

Great sportsmanship he showed when he fought Nelson. After recieving an illegal blow to the throat he could have won the title on a foul. Credit to Hernandez for electing to continue and winning the title from Nelson the proper way. He dominated Nelson over the 12 rounds. Hernandez felt boxing fans would have been cheated yet again after the Tyson-Holyfield and Lewis-Akinwande farces only months earlier.

The last time Mayweather was an underdog for any fight was against Hernandez 10 years ago.

    Regarding this division. Hernandez is consistently measured at 5' 11", with Corrales 5' 10 or 5' 10" 1/2 and Arguello 5' 10".

Any other fighters throughout the history of the divison taller than Hernandez?

Camacho would do very well in terms of head-to-head matchups, but he just didn't stay long enough at the weight to really make as much of an impact as he could have.
