Im gonna have to watch these fights, they keep popping up on these kind of lists all the time.

Ps. Id like to add... I always notice SRL/Hearns I & Gatti/Ward I on these lists, I thought the SRL/Hearns fight was great as a spectacle aswell as a boxing match with good drama, back & forth & ending with the KO but it doesnt compare to many others as a pure action fight IMO, its up there because of who`s actually fighting & significance more than toe to toe action, very good fight but not top 10.
Gatti/Ward would only be remembered as a very good fight without the marvelous rd 9, no more no less.

Ps. I thought Leonard/Hagler was better than Leonard/Hearns by a small margin myself & I didnt put that on my list.

How is Gatti-Ward overrated? Sure they aren't the most skilled fighters but the fight has so many ebb and flows combined with enormous heart shown by both fighters. I am in awe every time I watch the fight. Round 9 has an excellent case for being the greatest round of all time. The courage displayed by both men was amazing, Gatti in round 9 was an inspiration. Saying take away round 9 and its a good fight? Then the same goes for Hagler-Hearns, take away round 1 and its an average fight.

    My Top 10

    1) Julio Cesar Chavez - Meldrick Taylor I
    2) Muhammad Ali - Joe Frazier III
    3) Marvin Hagler - Tommy Hearns
    4) Arturo Gatti - Micky Ward I
    5) Bobby Chacon - Rafael Limon IV
    6) Sugar Ray Leonard - Roberto Duran I
    7) Floyd Mayweather - Jesus Chavez
    8) Diego Corrales - Jose Luis Castillo I (Could be higher but Corrales' cheating put me off)
    9) Salvador Sanchez - Azumah Nelson
    10) Erik Morales - Marco Antonio Barrera III

Your top sentence is actually a good point tho I thought Hag/Hearns rd 2 was close to rd 1 in terms of action & there really wasnt any `off your seat` action other than rd 9 in Gatti/Ward, it was a very good fight but defo I would not have it in a top 10 list, possible top 20, not even sure about that. I judge a fight as a whole & thats why Hag/Hearns made my list & Gatti/Ward didnt.

As for your 7th, 9th & 10th choices - Floyd/Chavez is not an action fight fit for a top 50 list IMO, its just Chavez diving in like an amatuer & taking big counter shots until the corner pulls him out way behind on the cards.
Sanchez/Nelson was decent but as above, should never even be considered anywhere near a top 10 list as an ATG action fight, its basically an inexperienced future great giving a better ATG a run for his money but ultimately being outboxed most of the way before being stopped in the last rd.

Morales/Barrera III is not a major problem on a top 10 list (tho I wouldnt have it there) but the thing that shocked me is that Morales/Barrera I didnt make your list - you cant seriously try & tell me that their 3rd fight was better than their 1st classic, thats mental.
EM/Pac I was better than that 3rd fight but still fell short of the excellent 1st fight.
