    a quick updated top 10 probably will change when a few guys retire. I know a lot of my picks will generate criticism but this is how I see it for now


    1. Joe Louis 66-3 (52 KO's)

    2. Ali 56-5 (37KO's)

    3. Marciano 49-0 (43KO's)

    4. Jack Dempsey 61-6 (50 KO's

    5. Lennox Lewis 41-2 (32KO's)

    6. Foreman 76-5 (68 KO's

    7. Joe Frazier 32-4-(27 KO's)

    8. Jersey Joe Walcott 51-18 (32 KO's) erratic spoiler

    9. Mike Tyson 50-6 (44 KO's)

    10. Larry Holmes 69-6 (44 KO's)

    This is a pretty good list, with the exception of Lewis and Walcott.

    the List pretty much covers the time period from 1915 on.

    A Top 15 with Jack Johnson & Jeffries (Sullivan/Corbett/Fitz) should be considered.

    Jeffries, Sullivan, & Johnson were all true heavy in size, and when heavies fight.....anything can happen.

    This goes for any weightclass that is lightweight or higher, maybe even lower.

    Heavies only get more KOs because they tire quicker.

    Good point. That is the reason Sullivan, Jeffries, or Johnson could knock anyone of the Listed Top 10 out.

    The punch from a 200+ lb fighter has a tendency to send the human brain into "scrambleville".

    :lol: WALCOTT on tyson and holmes at hw is just laughable, and dempsey the number 4 above guys like foreman,frazier,holmes or tyson is not even funny, is pure trash. the list is not that bad, but the order is horrible, except by walcott , no way in the hell he is in the top 10

    opinions are like assholes, everybody has one....some of the best boxing minds I met have had Walcott as the top spoiler of the division, he was erratic but could have pulled a Jimmy Young or an Ali style victory over Foreman,Tyson,Frazier,etc. had the skill and power to drop Louis 3x and Marciano 1x

    Dempsey was a beast in his day and not only had fast hands and powerful hands of stone but came out of the school of hard knocks....Dempsey a proven ATG force IMO

    walcott was another norton, a guy whoy could match well against some styles but he was very beatable even by average fighters,holyfield is greater than walcott at hw for sure.i could put patterson above him , and jack johnson is above walcott any day , the knock down of walcott over rocky just proved that rocky never had his mythical iron chin and he would have been destroyed by big punchers like foreman,tyson..., dempsey never was a proved atg force h2h, beating a big heavybag when he did not have to go to the corner when willard was down... it is not a great thing...

    Walcott dropped Louis 3x and scared many a guy into fighting defensively after feeling his power hard punching Lee Q. Murry was one, Walcott KO'd Harold Johnson, Tommy Gomez,Ezzard Charles,Johnny Shkor, Omelio Amegrante all on his way to Marciano, Foreman was limited and his record was padded and he avoided punchers earlier in his career, he lost badly to Jimmy Young and got dropped like a yo yo against Ron Lyle and if you inspect Lyle's record his power was not outstanding in most of his top fights other than Shavers who lost numerous times after having someone on the floor including Lyle,Bernard Mercado, Tex Cobb ( not floored but wobbled) Shavers was domninated by Ron Stander and Quarry (1 round KO) do you think Young could do everything better than Walcott except punch? I can rate Johnson and Jeffries but they fall outside of my top 10 and Evander is not yet officially retired as of yet

    His top 3 is fair. I don't however see much of a case for having Jack Dempsey in the top five, or Jersey Joe Walcott in the top 10. Both were great fighters to be sure. But their achievements have been eclipsed by at least 10 or more men. Larry Holmes is also ranked a tad low for my liking and the list is missing Evander Holyfield.

    That's probably mine, never really thought about it much though. I could see Johnson in for Wlad. Holmes, Lewis and Marciano can interchange as well, I'd be happy with any of them at 3.
