I had stopped watching by the time he came along, but my younger brother got into WWF so I did see some of his fights. I never watched the WCW, so dont know any of those guys. Never heard of him before. I do remember the Million Dollar Man though. Him and his bodyguard Virgil, lol I liked Mr Perfect, Macho Man, Rick Rude, Hogan and the Hart Foundation. I'm going to have to watch some old WWF fights now
1. Joe Calzaghe 2. Andre Ward 3. Roy Jones Jr 4. Chris Eubank 5. Carl Froch 6. Mikel Kessler 7. Nigel Benn 8. Steve Collins 9. Chong-Pal Park 10. Sven Ottke
By resume, Calzaghe is clearly number at SMW. By the admittedly more subjective eye-test, h2h, I think Roy is probably number 1.
Pretty fair post right here. Where would Ottke rank though? Between Ottke and Joe C, how do their resumes compare (removing the controversy and only going by win/loss).
#10. Chong Pal Park #9. Nigel Benn #8. Chris Eubank Sr #7. Sven Ottke. #6. Mikkel Kessler #5. Carl Froch #4. James Toney #3. Roy Jones Jr #2. Andre Ward #1. Joe Calzhage I'm much more familiar with this lot than I am the other ******* divisions. Everyone loves the SMWs.
By resume, I'd put it ... Calzaghe Roy Ward Ottke By h2h (speculative, I know)... Roy Calzaghe Toney Ward
Eubank wasn't number 1 in this list Victor Cordoba* Michael Nunn Chris Eubank Iran Barkley Mauro Galvano Nigel Benn Darrin Van Horn Lindell Holmes Tony Thornton Merqui Sosa Or this list Michael Nunn* Iran Barkley Chris Eubank Victor Cordoba Nigel Benn Tim Littles Darrin Van Horn Tony Thornton Frankie Liles Frank Nicotra Or this list James Toney Michael Nunn* Chris Eubank Nigel Benn Tim Littles Darrin Van Horn Frankie Liles Tony Thornton Antoine Byrd Vincenzo Nardiello Or this list Roy Jones Jr. Nigel Benn Chris Eubank Frankie Liles* Vinny Pazienza Tim Littles Michael Nunn Ray Close Graciano Rocchigiani Antoine Byrd So why would he be number 1 in a list of everyone who ever competed in the division?
I've watched the Malinga fight. Real poor performance. Reid's claim to fame is he lost a close fight to Calzaghe I haven't watched that fight. I'm told he injured his shoulder cuff during that fight. I have to disagree with this. Vanderpool had skills, but his defense needed work. He also could be a bit lazy as in his fight with Glen Johnson. I think he would of given Ottke a tough fight. That is the same Ottke who barely eeked out a win against Johnson. I watched the Mendoza fight. I was under the impression that Mendoza should of got the win and that it was time for Lacy to retire. He looked really over the hill in that fight. I got to disagree with your view on Sheika, who turned that fight into a clinch fest. No fighter deserves to win a fight using such tactics
He was cool though. I watched a few of his fights, but from that era I liked Kurt Angle (aka Koba) the most. Im going to have to watch some Bret Hart fights. I think my favourite was Bret Hart vs Macho Man
Are you sure you’re not confusing the WWF with the WCW? The Undertaker didn’t appear in the WWF until 1990. I hated Doink. He was a terrible addition to the company.
