I don't know lewis/Vitali was brutal as it lasted 2 250 pounders pounding away.Tyson /Ruddock I put because anyone less would have fell with those Tyson shots. If anything it would replace Klichko and peter.

That was more of a tag your it match nothing of note, nobody was really hurt in that 12 round fight, good big punches but tua looks like hes sleep walking right thru the punches.Foreman vs Holyfield was much more exciting than that fight.

How about Lewis-Bruno? That lasted into the 7th.
    Rahman-Sanders
    Witherspoon-Mercer
Thomas-Witherspoon (more of a tactical battle than a slugfest)

Here are some that haven't been mentioned yet:

Sergei Liakhovich vs. Lamon Brewster started slow but turned into a classic back-and-forth slugfest. (Hell, Brewster's entire reign was fun. Brewster-Wlad I, Brewster-Golota, Brewster-Krasniqi, Brewster-Meehan and Brewster-Liakhovich.)

Lewis vs. Mercer. Tommy Morrison-Joe Hipp. Danny Williams vs Mike Tyson and Mark Potter.

    Both Maskaev-Rahman fights.

    Larry Holmes-Mike Weaver.

    Holyfield-Dokes.

That was my dark horse pick. Great action but it kinda ruined both fighters.

Yep. That Brewster fight was one of my favorites. I don't know why Brewster doesn't get much respect for his career---he was a known commodity as an amateur.

Very very under the radar type fight. And Lamon was the prohibitive favorite going in.

I thought at least one of them was hurt in about 8 rounds of the fight. Hurt, not stung. But they would dig deep.

And I love the Bernstein call of the fight & it's fortunate we got him doing it. He does such a good job explaining the minefield Sergei was doing throwing all those right hand leads to the body against the guy. A tightrope act to pull off to get the necessary body punishment in on Brewster to have it eventually take its toll.

One thing I didn't like going in was that old Brewster habit of coming in heavy. But that's what the guy did after that knee surgery & jogging during training looked highly suspect.

The trouble with these fights is just how much it takes out of these guys. Sergei looked okay with Briggs for awhile but that 12th round wasn't good. But he really didn't look all that good against Shannon and those tough fights never do seem to see a sharp fighter in their next bout.

That's asking a lot when a guy has to dig that deep to win the title and it takes everything they have. Now it's time to defend the title & nobody was thinking Liakhovich was going to be making very many title defenses. And he sure didn't. But for 1 night he sure did a tremendus job.
