The Bulgarians are tough in some fighting sports. I said "maybe". Maybe even Haye again. Povetkin should be the first on list. I have my doubts these opponents can cause damages but who knows? At least to face best ranked heavyweights.
again..you meant to say, no one beats Wlad again until he retires. Really the biggest threats to Wlad are : 1- time/age 2- manny passing away (since we all know he was a massive part of Wlad improving) 3- his chin failing him. just dont see anyone out there who can even come close to beating him on paper.
No ones going to Corrie Sanders this version of Wlad for those people who think Wilder is capable of doing that. To beat Wlad you need to be able to withstand punishment, alot of punishment. I hate to admit it but his power is phenomenal and getting past that jab is an achievement itself. You also need someone who he is not going to out strength easy, you need someone to put him out of his comfort zone (Watch Sam Peter fight) even know David Haye is the 3rd best in the division right now, he is not the biggest threat to Wlad. I want to say Stiverne, but he is too stationary and easy to hit. Unless he tries to use Brewster's method, but that is easier said than done. The other day I re watched Vitali Chisora and noticed how Chisora had him on the back foot almost that whole fight, he also landed some very good shots that definitely hurt the granite chinned Vitali. It's far fetched giving anyone even a 15% chance, but if I had to choose it would be a motivated well conditioned Chisora, he's got good head movement, a granite chin and is physically strong. Being fair, if Helenius could get shots through Chisora's guard, Wlad sure as hell will. So tightening up his defense would make sense if he was to fight Wlad.
Pulev and Scott are legit fighters but I would favor them towards the slowed Vitali more. My list for Wlad anyway 1.Chisora 15% Chance 2.Pulev 15% 3.Haye 12% 4.Scott 10% 5.Stiverne 10% 6.Povetkin 8% 7.Price 8% 8.Fury 8% 9.Helenius 5% 10.Ortiz 5%
If your talking about my list, it's far more realistic than people saying untested fighters like Wilder, Mago have a chance.
Pulev. Wilder. In about 1-2 years. If he survives. David Price, if he's learned from his last mistake. Bogdan Dinu, if he ever gets the chance. Huey Fury, maybe, if Wlad sticks around that long. I can't think of another 5.
1-Apathy 2-Age 3-Boredom 4-Some kind of terrible accident 5-Domestic terrorism 6-Lightning 7-A virus 8-The Hand of God 9-Death 10-Hayden Panettiere
1. Wilder (could actually get a big punch in) 2. Haye (he wasn't totally out of the first fight despite what others say and could do better) 3. Solis 4 Scott (Scott and Solis rarely drop rounds) 5. Pulev 6. Price 7. Perez 8. Stiverne 9. Povetkin (doesn't match up well with Wlad) 10. Magomed Abdusalamov
David Haye is the only boxer with enough speed, power and raw athleticism to give Wlad a good challenge. He lost but came on strong in the last round. I hope the two fight again as they are both athletic, big men who can box and punch hard with either hand.
