I know exactly what you mean. I was 'Jaw on the Floor' stunned when that one went down. I think the fact that it was a prolonged beating made it seem even more wild. Manny turned that ring into a torture chamber.

It felt way bigger than 5-1

Our own Kirkland - Laing - beating Duran. Kirk was very talented, Duran was in a slightly erratic streak of form. But still...?

    Not talented? Plodder Colin Jones?

Can't agree with you there, Jack. But if I did, doesn't that make his beating Duran - who within the next year or so went on to brutalise Cuevas and Moore then give Marvin Hagler all he could handle at middleweight - even more of an upset?

Nobody remembered 20-1 underdog James Toney beating P4P TOP 3 at the time Michael Nunn?

Ruiz vs AJ may have aged differently but at the time was an enormous upset that even resonated among the MMA fans in my gym who watch no boxing

not from a gambling point of view, but from a looking back historical magnitude point of view, they were both undefeated but Ali certainly had the better resume with 2 wins over Liston and Cooper, and a win over Moore and Patterson

Frazier would be ranked lower if he had never beat Ali, fotc is where he really proved himself as an atg
