Boxrec has the following top 10 1. AJ 2. Fury 3. Whyte 4. Chisora 5. Hughie Fury 6. Gorman 7. Joyce 8. Dubois 9. Allen 10. Price 11. Cornish 12. Sexton 13. Ali For me I would put Whyte at Number 2, and drop Hughie below Gorman and Joyce but otherwise that is not a bad list. Thoughts?
Spot on for me. Hughie has better wins than Gorman and is operating at a higher level. Fury is going into Wilder fight and is rightfully number 2 however if Fury was to beat Wilder should he be ranked number 1?
I’d say those ranking are pretty spot on, I would switch Allen and Price around potentially but other than that they’re pretty solid
Very good question!! I would say so but then I think it would come down to Joshua having 3 of the 4 belts and the fact fury isn’t a model champion like Joshua To sum up I think politics wouldn’t let fury be number 1 unless he beat Joshua or joshua lost
Yes for Tyson Fury to become number 1 he needs to beat Wilder next. Then AJ needs to win his next fight, leading to an autumn 2019 face off between Tyson Fury and AJ If Tyson Fury beats AJ then he is number 1. The other scenarios if AJ loses to Whyte makes it more complicated as there will be a rematch and Tyson Fury will have to wait for that to face the winner.
Depends if you think Wilder or Joshua is the current number one? If the latter then how could someone beating the number 2 displace him?
Honestly don’t think we will see fury and Joshua in the same ring if fury beats wilder what would be the split ?? I honestly don’t need think fury would settle for less than 50% but don’t think hink Hearn would give him any more than 40% only way to see fury wilder joshua in same right would be if one loses and goes down the mandatory route
Joyce hasn`t been tested at the level H.Fury has, Fury gave Parker a good fight and Parker would jab Joyce`s head off.
Interesting, in this era to become undisputed either Wilder or Fury must beat Anthony Joshua and if anyonw beats Anthony Joshua outside of the magic 3 they to must face Wilder/Fury winner. I have just noticed the Ring magazine have Fury rated at 7 with Dillian Whyte ahead of him at 4.
Spot on except I’d switch Joyce and Gorman potentially...could also argue Fury could be lower given he’s only fought two bums on his comeback...
Have to disagree with you there, Joyce would steam roll Hughie Fury within 4 rnds as Joyce is a specimen even compared to Pulev. He's an absolute tank and although he looks very basic and uncultured, I only see guys who match him with physicality and solid power that will trouble him. I get that Usyk clowned him with skills but, Hughie is nowhere near as offensively minded as Usyk and just wouldn't be able to keep Joyce off him.
Based on achievement and resume, it's not a bad list. Wouldn't mind seeing opinions of how the top 10 would look based on how they'd fare H2H. I'd definately put Joyce ahead of HFury and Gorman, thou I think Gorman has greater potential long term. Think there's a few doubtful match ups there for Chisora aswell. Such a shame you can never be sure which Chisora is gonna turn up as when he's on it, he's a handful for absolutely anyone. Hopefully linking up with Haye will bring an added dimension to his overall game and more consistency.
