The division is still pretty young in boxing terms but who would make the top 10? Based on achievments/defences, dominance, big wins etc. 1. Evander Holyfield 2. Juan Carlos Gomez 3. David Haye 4. James Toney 5. Vassiliy Jirov 6. Johnny Nelson 7. Dwight Muhammed Qawi * 8. Carlos De Leon 9. Jean Marc Mormeck 10. Fabrice Tiozzo *Qawi was more of a lightheavy Some of the listed fighters didnt hang around long before jumping up to heavyweight for the $$$ but made a lasting impression before doing so.
Imamu Mayfield would have stopped both Jean Marc Mormeck and David Haye:deal and you aint even git him in your top ten!! Dont think much of the order of your list its based more on hype than reality
DeLeon should be higher IMHO but I'm finding it hard to summon up enough enthusiasm to take a good look at the list...;O)
Virgil Hill should be up there Most of his legacy at light heavyweight but he blasted out Fabrice Tiozzo in a round for the WBA Crusierweight title
Feel free to add your own list. The order is difficult since Cruiserweight was often a stop off for guys moving up to heavyweight or Lightheavys testing the water before moving back down again.
Thats why I think Deleon should be higher, he WAS the cruiserweight division for a while. Like you say though, its a hard call.
Maybe but the fact he lost quite a few fights made me place him lower. Some higher on the list had less title bouts but were more convincing and never looked like losing before leaving the division.
I doubt the rest of the world will rank David Haye as highy as British people do Whats his main legacy as World Crusierweight Champion W TKO 7 Jean Marc Mormeck Good win But hardly makes him the greatest
