I don't even rate Dirrell defensively. If you want to be short sighted and choose him because he runs like a coward, so be it. Manny Pacquiao is better defensively than Dirrell, without question.

Same old dumb **** as people who say Roberto Duran wasn't excellent defensively.

Berto is not a very good defensive fighter.

    Haye's footwork is atrocious.

Your list is decent at best. It's either a sad state of boxing and the lack of defense or it's just a bit of both. I'll choose the latter.

I'm surprised at how little mention Andre Ward's gotten.

Haye's defense is completely reflex based and his footwork is a joke. Putting him on the list of top defensive fighters is a huge joke.

A few people have named him. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned Bradley. He's good at slipping, rolling, blocking, and dodging punches. He can go from offense to defense pretty seemlessly as well.

I did say "sort of". He's got a decent shoulder roll going.

I've watched Haye since he was an amatuer and have seen all his proffessional fights since the BBC days.

If you don't rate Haye defensively, you are being ignorant, but feel free to make an argument against it and we can debate it. I'm happy to watch his career again and pinpoint the defensive skill.
