No one should have Carl Froch in that top 10 at all.
Cant believe how many times his name is poping up.
Cases can be made for most other names im seeing frequently tho.

Well first of all Calzaghe got his ass kicked. He may have won the boxing match but there is no doubt he was the one getting his ass kicked. Tarver already beat your supposed fighters. A few months ago you would put Woods in your list :nut:nut:nut

And who is getting his ass kicked in my Avatar???????????

In your quote, I am referring to Erdei, not Kessler. And if you check, Kessler made my top ten.

Really? Kessler beat Anthony Mundine, Librado Andrade, Markus Beyer, and travelled to Wales to lose to Calzaghe in respectable fasion. I'm not loving Kessler, but check out Erdei:

Erdei, with Kessler, was in the most recent Ring Magazine as a fighter "who has made all the wrong moves." The article points out that every other solid light heavyweight took decent fights in 2008. Hopkins v. Calzaghe, Dawson v. Johnson, Tarver v. Woods etc. His last three fights have been against American c-level club fighters: Danny Santiago, George Blades, and DeAndrey Abron.

Agreed. It is but one factor, although boxing historians will no doubt discount Calzaghe's career because of it. I would not be making that point if Erdei was fighting the name light heavyweights in Germany. The point would be moot. But, Erdei fights crappy fighters in front of his home crowd. You don't get credit for that. He shouldn't be on a top ten list. It is a waste too because he actually is a better-than-decent boxer.

Why do you have Froch on your list? Do you think he deserves it more than Diaconu, Tarver, Johnson, or Roy Jones? Who has Froch fought to deserve that spot?

Why do you have Arthur Abraham so far above Kelly Pavlik? And Andrade above Pavlik? Explain please.

Granted, all that is true. I am not defending Erdei. In fact, I'll say that his last 3 opponents have not been (as you say) c-level club fighters, but rather F-class tomatoe cans (maybe Santiago was c-level). He has made bad moves in his career, and Universum have completely wasted his prime years without a unification.

But his resume to date is still at least on par with Kessler's.

    Erdei's wins:

Julio Gonzalez: the #2 LHW in the world, 35-1, and WBO/lineal champ.

Hugo Garay 1: long time top 10 LHW, undefeated, though untested before fight 1. Good amateur record.

Thomas Ulrich: long time top 10 LHW, EBU champ, Olympic Bronze medalist. Though he was never the same after KO loss to Adamek.

Hugo Garay 2: Rematch win after a close fight 1. Garay actually moved into Ring mag's top 10 between fights 1 and 2.

    Kessler's wins:

Manny Siaca: 17-4 clubfighter with a belt. Got beat 12 rounds to 0 by a 45 year old Silvio Branco.

Anthony Mundine: quick talented fighter, but no amateur career, no chin, and half Kessler's size.

Marcus Beyer: ancient and tiny. Was losing fight to Sakio Bika but saved by a cut. Hasn't fought since.

Librado Andrade: undefeated, untested. Lost over 60% of amateur fights. Slow plodder with no defence, solid chin saved him from KO loss.

There you have it, and I am not exactly a fan of Erdei. :good
