I realise you weren't asking me but....Oscar won 10 world titles at 6 weights, and has a very good resume. Streets ahead of Calzaghe's for example. Trinidad was a legit champion at 3 weights, and again, better resume.

Calzaghe has better paper accomplishments which he gained because he was a cunning and calculating career strategist.

Winky could've stayed at home and built a legacy as an extremely skilled and dominant (who actually unified before a decade had gone by) lightmiddleweight champion, but he moved up for big fights with big names.

Winky @ 154 was as good if not better than Calzaghe @ 168, and his resume is stronger too: he should have got the decision vs a peak Fernando Vargas, beat Mosley twice, beat Trinidad, should have got the decision and the titles vs unbeaten Jermain Taylor for sure.

There's no way you could ever convince the masses that Winky was greater, because all they see is a zero, a domination over a mediocrity like Lacy, and a 10-year WBO title reign (as if that is a stellar achievement!? It's a damning indictment of the man's ambition!), and for them that makes him Roy Jones. :patsch

I guess i can understand in where your coming from, but i just feel that Oscar lost most of his really meaningful fights, and although hes a sound guy and fantastic boxer, the amazing amount of good names on his resume dont mean that much when alot of them he beat were past there best and the other half he lost too. But yeah, you seem alot more logical than Dinamita so fair dos mate and dont have that really negative grumpy vibe.:thumbsup

De La Hoya: Better resume, won more titles, won titles in more weight divisions, better fighter in terms of ability at his peak

Trinidad: Better resume, won more titles, won titles in more weight divisions, at least as good if not better fighter in terms of ability at his peak

Calzaghe is not close to Oscar IMO, he is closer to Trinidad but not so close that I could conceive of it the other way round. Both guys fought better fighters, beat better fighters, achieved more, and on their best nights just looked better (because they were doing it against a higher level of comp).

Ask yourself: just how many guys did these two beat who were better than Left Hook Lacy? Scores.

More logical?? What could be more logical than my posts on the subject? You may disagree, but I have explained my reasons and they are entirely logical.

(Oscar lost his biggest fights? He won the Trinidad fight and the second Mosley fight, he beat Whitaker IMO, and beat Vargas. That he didn't get all the decisions he deserved is a technicality. Fans can watch those fights and see for themselves).

I think if you breakdown DLH's career to pre & post Trinidad, you'll see that he won all his meaningful fights in the first half of his career, and many in the second. He has only lost to the prime, P4P elite fighters, of this generation.

Apart from the fact he was robbed against Mosley in the 2nd fight, and probably should have go the decision against Tito, his resume of wins (not to mention his amazing level of comp) is somewhere between 'very good', and 'great', IMO.

    Vargas
    Mayorga
    Quartey
    Chavez x 2
    Whitaker
    Gatti
    Camacho
    Hernandez
    Sturm
    Gonzalez
    Paez
    Ruelas
    Leija
    Molina
    Carr

Calzaghe was better than Lewis IMHO, I rank him the best post war British fighter, I dont hold Lennox in the same high regard as some here on ESB.
