What did you think of the Kingpetch-Harada II decsision. Obviously Kingpetch has the stronger overall body of work than Harada at Fly but I think Harada bested him twice.
1. Jimmy Wilde 2. Pancho Villa 3. Pascual Perez 4. Miguel Canto 5. Benny Lynch 6. Frankie Genaro 7. Fidel LaBarba 8. Midget Wolgast 9. Peter Kane 10. Masao Ohba The next 10 (rough order): Horacio Accavallo, Santos Laciar, Betulio Gonzalez, Pone Kingpetch, Mark Johnson, Hilario Zapata, Hiroyoki Ebihara, Sot Chitalada, Chartchai Chionoi, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam
I think he did. But Gingpet m deserves credit for his performances in Harada and Ebihara rematches considering the quick turnarounds for both and the devastation he suffered both times. He’s good for his spot.
Yeah especially the Harada one because the first was a beatdown over the course of a long time. Did you see the Buchanan-Laguna fight yet?
Nonito is too big, too good of a counterpuncher, and of course the left hook is a 1hko on almost anybody. He would out box Canto on the outside until Canto gets desperate and runs in to a left hook. Nonito is pretty much unbeatable from fly-bantam
I watched a bit of it but no longer have a YouTube downloader (and downloads not switched on for the vid) so need to get something to rip it and watch at my own leisure
'Outbox Canto on the outside.' 'Till Canto gets desperate.' Hahahahaha Have you actually watched Canto?
Forcing Nonito to lead is a great way to make him look absolutely clueless. He was extremely one dimensional, a pure counter puncher essentially. I’m a fan, but that’s idiot thinking he’s unbeatable is why I have him on ignore.
1. Wilde 2. Harada 3. Perez 4. Canto 5. Villa 6. LaBarba 7.Lynch 8. Chang 9. Generaro 10. Ohba Tentative, off-the-top of my head that I didn't think through much. I count "peak" performance and potential head-to-head a lot more than paper "accomoplishments." I also consider junior or lighter version of the original weights. So I have Harada #2, because he never seemed beatable at the weight, and I cannot envision any flyweight I have ever seen as beating him. Likewise, I put Chang here, even though he was a junior flyweight, because there is no question that he could have easily had as long a reign at flyweight if the junior flyweight class didn't exist. (He beat plenty future and former flyweight champs, too; and frankly, I only see Harada among post-Perez flyweights beating him.)
Interesting, I know some folks go for more ‘H2H’ lists and some even include ******* divisions....rarely see a list that does both though! Me, I’m very much one of those ‘paper accomplishments’ guys, although I guess H2H kinda’ comes into play when I evaluate the actual ebb and flow/performances that took place in those paper accomplisments. I think Harada would be an absolute nightmare for Wilde btw. I have Harada top 20, but his resume at fly is a bit too thin for me to rank him top 10. I’d have Ebihara above him, even though he beat him in the rookie tournament.
I have seen all his available fights on Canto, he can't outbox Donaire from the outside The size difference is too great. He will have to extend himself to get inside which makes him vulnerable to the left hook
He got inside Avelar loads, and that’s another guy who carried his punch up in weight. Again, Nonito wouldn’t even be a flyweight in Canto’s era. Log out and don’t return.
