Greatest chins I've seen since I started following boxing in no particular order: Marvin Hagler Julio Cesar Chávez Oliver McCall Evander Holyfield Vitali Klitschko Jeff Fenech George Foreman Jose Luis Ramirez Juan LaPorte Carl Froch
Froch was dropped heavily by Jermaine Taylor and George Groves.. Nowhere near top 10 material. Bernard Hopkins worth a shout
Just about everyone in people's top 10 has been dropped at some time or another but that doesn't mean they don't have a good chin. It's true that Froch was dropped by Taylor and Groves (he did still get up and went on to win both matches ) but he still makes my top 10 of fighters that I've seen because unlike Bernard Hopkins, Froch had a pretty poor defence and so did show a good chin because of the amount of times that he was hit flush and hard in just about every fight he was in yet he on the whole, was rarely troubled by them.
Both times he got up won and by stoppage. Only the greatest of chins get back up and win. Its the #1 factor in evaluating ones chin strength.
Ive watched boxing since the Hagler/Minter fight so going by that time scale I would go with: Marvin Hagler David Tua James Toney Chris Eubanks Snr Vitali Klitcschko Carl Froch Evander Holyfield Wayne Mcullough Robert Guerrero Ruslan Provotnikov As someone already stated, some of the above have been knocked down several times but, they were cracked with some serious bombs and still went on to win. All of the above have been cracked flush by some of the hardest punches in recent boxing history many, many times and have shown little to no deterioration in the chin department.
