No why would I? The Marciano haters like yourself are the most stubborn lot I've ever seen on any forum. You ranking him at 9 all time heavyweight behind guys like Holy is just LOL and completely hate based, no matter how you try and word it.
Listed heights are rarely accurate, but for what they’re worth Turpin at 5’ 10”, or just under, wasn’t short for his era, at middle, nor at light heavy. He fought so upright, it looked as though he wore a back brace! Again, for his era, Wilde at 5’ 2”, would have been average, nearly 4” taller than decades later, Pascual Perez. The great D.ck Tiger, double undisputed world champion, appeared to be markedly shorter than a listed 68”. He’s my pick as one of the greats. Losing to the elongated Bob Foster, when past his best, conceding 7- 8 inches or pick a number !
Not really. The most accurate height I have for Benn seems to be 5' 9 & a 1/2", & the average MW is not more than 5' 10". Turpin seems to be marginally/barely taller at 177 centimeters. If anyone is a minuscule amount shorter than the average man in his division, that is in the average range, it does not qualify as short. If you call that short for a division, you have to assign that to so many others. Hagler was shorter, either 5' 9" or 5' 8", so is he a midget?
