Top 10 Hardest Punches Thrown in Fights

Good list. Hearns / Duran was my "omg he's going to die" punch.

On that list, Hearns getting revenge for the mule and Jackson putting Graham to sleep and getting revenge for all the people that were put to sleep through watching Graham's boring boxing style, should be at the top.

Hearns' KO of Duran was always one of my favourite punches, however another vicious punch was Nigel Benn knocking out Anthony Logan just as it looked like Benn was about to be stopped himself. Watch from about 6m 15 secs into this:

Yeah, Benn was a wild man in those days but had to hold back a bit more with his exciting reckless style after losing to Watson.

 

Marciano's KO of Wallcott has always been one of my favorite punches. However, another vicious punch was the one Chavez floored Taylor with.

 

One of several reasons why even attempting to come up with a list is just goofy.

It was a vicious punch, but Taylor was destroyed at that point, i don't think that Chavez would have knocked out as many fighters with just that punch in comparison to the right of Hearns vs Duran for example.

 

The title of the video is a misnomer. It may as well have been "My Favorite 10 stoppages". Actually even that is wrong give Holmes etc got up lol.

The reaction of the opponent doesn't neccessarily mean that much, it's certainly not the be all and end all. Of course "they" were all impressive, just like 100's of others.

Louis right hand that koed Uzcudun.

I remember back in the early 70's they had an afternoon tv show on CBS that showed past hwt championship bouts. There was one specific right hand punch Baer hit Carnera with that the experts on the show were in agreement could have been the hardest punch ever thrown.

 

Butterbean v Bart Gunn deserves mention

 

Tim Witherspoon's crushing first round ko over Anders Eklund. That overhand right absolutely caved in the side of Eklund's face. Frightening......
