I confess to not recalling the exact details or circumstances or chronology of all this. But I do remember a King and Byrd falling out.

I had thought that King was still technically working with Byrd, even when the two were both suing each other, at least through the Williamson fight - and I actually thought the Klit fight was the last one where he and Byrd were technically together.

I also recall King rumbling at some point about a heavyweight unification tournament of some sort around that time.

You would think that King would have wanted to make a push for the Golota-Byrd rematch even more fiercely when considering all of this, however.

Don't know how you didn't enjoy Meehan/Brewster man..... That was a back and forth all action barnburner, one of the best 00s HW fights for sure!

Oh ****.... I just remembered Sanders/Rahman, another fight people tend to overlook.

    Vitali/Sanders was great too.

    00s for me....

    Liakhovich/Brewster
    Klitschko/Lewis
    Klitschko/Sanders
    Sanders/Rahman
    Meehan/Brewster

I will definitely give Brewster-Meehan another look at some point and let you know when I do. :good

Although I'm pretty sure this one wasn't televised (or that I didn't see it when it was), I remember liking Brewster-Krasniqi better.

I obviously agree with you on the first two you listed. I thought Vitali vs Sanders was good, but quickly lost its luster after a couple of rounds. Sanders-Rahman was fun!

The one I was considering from that 2000-2010 period, that I didn't include, was Wlad-Peter. That was just an unusual fight all around, but a very fun watch right to the end.

They were all badass fights, you and I are around the same age so I guess they effected us about the same, you did a good list, what can I say. I also loved Morrison, I went to see Rocky 5 in the theatres when I was ten so I always rooted for, I know it was a stupid reason but I was a kid, so him getting KO'd really p*ssed me off. Mike one year Tommy the next, both of my favorite guys were taken out back to back.

When I went back and watched it when I could fully comprehend it a few years ago after Tommy died it irritated me all over again, Tommy was winning that fight with ease and only reason Mercer KO'd him came from a rabbit punch, so while it was a great match the ending marred it for me a little.

    I'll check out Brewster-Liakhovich when I get a chance.:good

From my kid POV I loved Tyson, Bowe, Morrison and Golota, Holyfield I liked but rooted against him, Lewis bored me, but my appreciation for Holyfield and Lewis has grown over the years.

    Definitely check Brewster-Liakhovich. :good

Yeah, I loved watching Tyson when I was a kid, although I often rooted against him during his post-prison comeback. And I'll always remember my Marine Biology teacher from high school. He used to play movies for us during class all the time, which we all loved as you can imagine - but for some odd reason, he showed us a VHS copy of the Bowe-Holyfield I fight about a week after it had happened.

So I was always fond of watching Tyson, Bowe, and Holyfield fight, and when Golota bust onto the scene, I started getting much more into boxing, transitioning from casual to die hard.

Chris Bryd for a while was a real legit champion in that interim period (late 90's into the 2000's I think). No power at heavyweight but around the time he beat Holyfield, his punches were sharp, snapping the head back. The type of punches I like to see. He had to find different ways to win and big fighters like Golota were a tougher matchup. Also I made a lot of money betting on that Tyson/Holyfield fight, watching on a friend's cablebox that unscrambled all the channels. Good pics overall though I would have had a different order. You also missed Lennox Lewis/Mercer, that probably would've made my top 10.

    I will when I get a chance.:good

Guys like Bowe, Tyson, Golota and Morrison is the reason why I promote all action guys as much as I do, and love the sport today and they're the guys that made me a fan, even though I remember Leonard, Mancini etc being watched by my parents as a kid, I drifted a little at the end of the 90's I lost interest a little but I still followed but only casually, guys like ODLH, RJJ etc., then I fully committed myself again around 03 (because of Lewis-Vitali), and have been pretty devout ever since.

And my Marine Biology teacher used to let us watch the OJ trail.

And if Chagaev vs Ortiz comes through, we might get a canditate for the list next year.

    Thanks for watching Blackclouds.

Lewis-Mercer was on my list of contenders before I finalized my list, and along with Holyfield-Cooper and Mercer-Morrison and Holy/Bowe II - those 4 were the fights I most seriously considered that I didn't include.

As for Byrd, he was very talented. His wins against Tua and Holyfield were very impressive, and his fights against McCline and Golota were highly entertaining. Wlad, however, was an absolute nightmare for him style-wise.

OJ was on the run in that van the day my high school senior yearbook came out, and one of my friends used an OJ quote for his portrait quote.
