Fury: dethroned Wlad in his backyard in an easy win and dethroned the longest reigning champion of the post-Klitschko era in another easy win, four fights against long-reigning KO artists away from home without a single defeat in his 35 fight pro career Joshua: lost three times to Ruiz and Usyk x2, beat Wlad in a life and death in London 17 months post-Fury Joshua's still on the outside looking in, at best 3rd place in the era.
Yeah, that feels about right mate.* Glad to see the respect for Parker. He’s a terrific boxer and well inside the top 5. *Ngannou I query.
Pretty much this with the exception of Ngannou, but it's good to be there for the laugh as he beats Fury fair and square. I would switch Parker with Zhang as well. And put Joyce on the place of Ngannou if for real. BTW from that list i think there is a good chunk of HW that beats Fury.
1. Oleksandr Usyk 2. Anthony Joshua 3. Tyson Fury 4. Zhilei Zhang 5. Joe Joyce 6. Joseph Parker 7. Andy Ruiz 8. Frank Sanchez 9. Agit Kabayel 10. Efe Ajagba
This is going to be controversial, but I absolutely think Zhan Kossobuitsky belongs on the list. I 100% think that he was responding to the low blows Ajagba starting throwing after he caught Efe with that big straight left in the 1st round that obviously bothered Efe. He was the B-side and got screwed. If you don't agree - fine - but you won't change my mind. Kossobuitsky will now be conveniently overlooked, but on overall ability I believe he'd be a challenge for any of the A-listers who fought yesterday in Saudi Arabia.
Jalolov has immense potential and I am a strong supporter of his - but he's only fought one opponent who is in (maybe) the top-30 of the division (Mulowayi). He's kind of in limbo until the next Olympics.
1. Usyk 2. Fury 3. Joshua 4. Hrgovic 5. Zhang 6. Joyce 7. Parker 8. Sanchez 9. Kabayel 10. Dubois 11. Anderson 12. Ajagba 13. Bakole 14. Wallin 15. Wilder* 16. Ruiz * 17. Wardley 18.Whyte* 19. Huni 20. Hunter* Top 3 need no explanation. Hrgovic at 4 because he just slightly edged Zhang in their fight imo. Parker below Joyce because he lost to Joyce comprehensively. Sanchez at 8 because he beat Ajagba and beat Fa better than Parker (being generous with this ranking, he's barely done anything of note since beating Ajagba) Kabayel at 9, because he beat Chisora and upset Makhmudov with relative ease. Dubois at 10 because of his performance against undefeated Miller, giving Usyk and Joyce decent fights. Anderson at 11 for beating Martin, and a few decent prospects/guys coming off good performances. Ajagba at 12, he's been on a good run since losing to Sanchez. Bakole at 13. started the downfall of Tony Yoka, beat Takam and Kuzmin Wallin drops a bit after his poor performance (he was at 10 for me going into the fight) but he still scored a good win over Gassiev this year. Wardley at 17. Because he has some decent wins over Gorman, Molina, Coffie and beat undefeated Adeleye. Huni at 19, beat some undefeated guys like Goodall and Gallen. Recently beat Andrew Tabiti Wilder, Ruiz, Whyte and Hunter all have low rankings and asterisks because I don't know whats going on with them currently. Wilder will probably retire and even if he doesn't, does not hold a singular win over anybody in my top 20 (Ortiz is probably retired) I've been hearing that apparently Ruiz may retire. If he isn't retired and increases his activity he's definitely top 10, but until then he's staying at 16. Haven't heard anything from Whyte since popping dirty again. Struggled with Franklin and is now probably banned for a while. Haven't heard anything from Hunter since he went life and death in that draw with Jerry Forrest (Anderson stopped Forrest in like 2 rounds and old Pulev beat him comfortably) Honourable Mentions: Jermaine Franklin, Jerry Forrest, Carlos Takam, Arslanbek Makhmudov, Bakhodir Jalolov, Derek Chisora, Kubrat Pulev, Charles Martin Ngannou needs build his resume before earning a ranking.
“lost three times to Ruiz” - I see you have resorted to lying outright after last night. Joshua’s legacy > Wilder’s legacy
Not at all. I used to be quite a fan. but then he fought Chisora for a third time and lost to a novice. He isn't that good anymore, and he knows it.
