What has Fury done in the last 6 years at heavyweight besides beat Wilder?

    He's fought

    Wilder
    Whyte
    Wallin
    Schwarz
    Seferi
    Pianetta

You could argue Whyte is a better victory than Chisora but not by that much, especially since Whyte was KO'd by a shot Povetkin.

Ortiz was ranked 5th and 6th Ring ranked when Wilder beat him, Stiverne 3rd. I personally think Ortiz was the 2nd best heavyweight at the time behind Wilder (Fury was still out, Usyk was down at cruiser, Povetkin had more miles) but that's neither here nor there.

Wilder has fought top 7 Ring ranked opponents on 6 occasions, going 3-2-1. So that's three wins against top 6 opponents and a draw against 7th ranked Fury, who is the current No.1.

I don't know where Ruiz was in the rankings, somewhere in the top 20 I guess but he destroyed Joshua. Ex-cruiser Usyk was 10th ranked when he beat Joshua the first time, 2nd ranked in the rematch. Wilder has only lost to Fury when Fury was No.1 ranked.

It's not "common sense" who should be ranked 3rd, it's easy to make an argument for Joyce seeing as he's undefeated and has wins over Parker, Jennings, Dubois and Takam. You can make an argument for Joshua based on him having 7 defences over two reigns and the best win 5.5 years ago. And you can make an argument for Wilder based on him having 10 defences, a historic KO record and the draw with Fury, along with fewer and less severe losses than Joshua, plus Wilder has a win (and an impressive one in terms of dominance) in the last 2-odd years, which Joshua doesn't. Ring currently have Wilder ahead of Joshua but behind Usyk, which I think is the correct order at the present time but this isn't an exact science by any means.

It's not entirely Fury's fault; some of the blame goes to David Haye, who pulled out twice and wasted a year of Fury's career. Fury was also chasing Vitali in the WBC rankings, who chose to retire after not looking great against Chisora and Charr. The WBC made the Stiverne-Arreola rematch for the belt instead of say, Fury vs one of those guys or protected prospect Wilder. Fury wanted to fight Chagaev, who avoided it based on problems with his training team and I'm sure there are other examples behind the scenes. At 6'8 with tenacity, speed and skills (Fury-Chisora 2011, Fury-Kevin 2012) Fury was surely regarded as a high risk but relatively low reward fight by many back then.

Very grandiose opening statement. The "networks" wanted Canelo to beat GGG, yet Compubox had GGG outlanding Canelo in fight 1 and fight 2. The "networks" didn't want clear B-side, generally disliked back then, away fighter Fury beating 18 defence P4P No.2 Wlad, who had recently signed another 5 fight deal and was a global star. They didn't want Usyk beating Joshua either, yet he did and Compubox had him winning both fights. Compubox certainly isn't definitive but it's a rough guide: it had Fury outlanding Wlad in 11 rounds and reviewers on Eyeonthering thought Fury won 10. Even many who don't like or are neutral about Fury on these forums had him winning by a landslide if you check the RBR.

"Yawn", as if you don't spend an inordinate amount of time on these forums.
