The Klitschko's give them both a very good fight.

 

fraizer were as tough as a fighter gets, the man would of gave evreything in the ring he had power which devasted opponents even ali can you imagine audley harrison vs joe fraizer did you see the fight with ali he just kept coming to even compare such fighters is a insult to the greatest decade of heavyweight boxers ever

 

It depends if you are talking about prime versions of Ali or Frazier. In truth, both guys had their hands full vs fighters who would not be champion today.

I do think Frazier was small, and didn't have the best chin. This heavyweight class might lack some skills, but most of the guys in the top ten can hit.

I think Ali in his prime would of danced around the Klitschkos. Foreman would of gave Wlad serious problems. But, a fight between Foreman and Vitali would of been a classic. Don't know who would of won that one, though.

 

All the great HW from 70ies had deep trouble with mediocre fighters.

IMO they are too small and would be outpowered by Lennox or the Klitschkos.

People who think these old fighters would walk thru nowadays top HW´s are simply ******ed and got no clue.

 

It's not like there never were fighters above 215 pounds pre 1980. There were skilled super heavyweights back then too, they were just plain beaten by the "small" HW's like Marciano, Frazier, Ali etc etc etc

 

A giant fat Foreman who could barely move won the title in the mid 90s, and guess what he lost multiple times in the 70s when at his best :good

An old 40s Holmes also made "modern" HWs look silly and he was no better than Ali and others that came before him.

 

Frazier was only troubled by him because it was very early in his pro career. He smoked him in the rematch that occured later.

 

The lumbering giants of today would a be toasted by the greats of yesteryears...

 

Frazier was too small. Frazier would approx. have as much chances as he had against Foreman, and Foreman nowadays would be medium-sized low-weight heavyweight nowadays.

Ali was not small. But Ali was a natural cruiser thus would basically be too weak to harm anyone nowadays. Moreover he had no defense whatsoever.

I don't think they would have much chance against today's top guys.

Alos THEIR RECORDS are actually overblown because their record themselves contain a lot of wins against cruisers and natural cruisers.

So, how many somewhat GOOD + NATURAL HEAVIES did Ali KO:

Once you erase bum-opponents (= those who lose 25% or more of their fights) and then erase opponents below-200 and then erase natural cruisers (= those who started 180+) the following stats remain:

• Wladimir Klitschko: 17 KOs
• Mike Tyson: 14
• Foreman: 12
• Lennox: 11
• Vitali Klitschko: 10
• Muhammad Ali: 8
• Sam Langford: 8 (yes, that's right 300+ fights and only 8 noteworthy KOs. Against the same 5 opponents BTW).
• Holyfield: 7
• Joe Louis: 4
• Archie Moore: 3 (yes, 200+ fights and only 3 noteworthy KOs. Moore fought guys who started at 110+ lbs)
• Joe Frazier: 2 (Chuvalo and Mathis)
• Rocky Marciano: 0 (yes, all of his opponents were either bums or below-200 opponents or opponents who were natural cruisers. He was fighting opponents starting at 140+ lbs. And some of you compare Marciano to modern heavies)
• LaMar Clark: 0 (He, too, fought only bums and natural cruisers).

This stat gets even more clear when you delete all non-world-title fights:

So, how many KO wins against non-bum natural heavies in world-title fights did they score?

• Lennox: 9 KOs
• Wladimir Klitschko: 8
• Mike Tyson: 7
• Ali: 5
• Holyfield: 2
• Foreman: 2
• Frazier: 1

I hope that puts things into perspective a bit.

 

Wlad's chin would never hold up against Frazier.Ali would outbox both of them.Vitali-Frazier is stylistically the most competitive matchup.
