Please don't say something you'll get banned for. Keep it civil. Anyway, my top 10 would probably be: 1. Benny Leonard 2. Barney Ross 3. Ted "Kid" Lewis 4. Abe Attell 5. Lew Tendler 6. Joe Choynski 7. Abe Goldstein 8. Newsboy Brown 9. Jack "Kid" Berg 10. Max Baer Anybody I'm missing?
Kid Kaplan, Maxie Rosenbloom, Jackie Fields, Georgie Abrams and Battling Levinsky deserve consideration. Lots of great Jewish fighters though so it’s a hard list to make
Sid Terris has quite a reputation for being a great boxer with great footwork. I´ve seen Alphonse Halimi being listed as jewish, which I never knew to be true since he was algerian and I thought all algerians were muslims...
All of the North African countries had populations of Sephardic Jews. They were displaced if not murdered in the 1950s and 60s. Thr Algerians mostly went to France, but Israel took in most from the other countries (not fact checking). These countries have virtually no Jews now.
isn't there a Book, "When Boxing was a Jewish Sport" or something like that, it would be interesting to know who gets accolades from such a exploration... not my general knowledge but there defo were hundreds of them over the course of boxing, Top Jewish Fighters.
Klitschko's father, Volodymyr Rodionovych Klitschko (1947–2011), was a Soviet Air Force major general and a Soviet military attaché in East Germany. Volodymyr's mother was Jewish.[229] Part of Vitali's family died during Holodomor, while his great-grandfather and family members on the female line of his mother died in the Holocaust.[230]
Wait who tf here on this forum would say something antisemitic? - we’ve had one? verbal Racist during my entire time here lol.
