Sorry can't have Rocchigiani up there with only a win over Michael Nunn. Switch him with Montell Griffin who has two wins over James Toney and a win over Roy Jones.

Also i'm starting to think Matthew Saad Muhammad should be in the top 2 maybe even take over Spinks.

I mean look at his resume it damn good up until he got knocked out against Qawi.

    Marvin Johnson x2
    Yaqui Lopez x2
    John Conteh x2
    Jerry Martin
    Richie Kates

Lost an SD to Eddie Mustafa

    Compared to Spinks

    Eddie Mustafa Muhammad
    Dwight Muhammad Qawi
    Marvin Johnson
    Yaqui Lopez
    Johnny Davis x2

I don´t rate Griffins win over Jones much and Toney was a non-entity at lhw. Rocchigiani should also have a win over Maske and he was up against DM before that ones disgraceful acting performance. And the fight against Eubank could have gone either way, I had it for Rocky but no complains. Rocky is one of those guys you actually need to look at a bit more than just boxrec. ;)

Well, losses, dominance and those things count too. So, no.

If James Toney was a non entity at Light Heavy then what the hell was Michael Nunn?

Montell was the second fighter at the time to give Toney his next two losses after Jones. Toney was also only 26 and 28 in their fights.

Okay, let me put it different. Toney was a non-entity between his loss to Jones and his rejuvenating against Jirov. Toney lost to Thadzi, come on.

Yes Toney wasn't the same fighter. I think I heard after Toney lost to Jones he never trained really hard for a fight ever again. Even so, they are two solid wins.

not much to add, i just find this a very interesting conversation. the entire list is tricky, with many in the top 10 fighting each other and those who lost perhaps warranting a high spot based on dominance, resume, etc.

spinks, jones, saad muhammad, all legends. the rest of the list is quite solid as well regardless with qawi and mustafa muhammad putting in great work

I know Qawi beat him Saad twice, but I'd put Saad Muhammad ahead of him based on overall body of work. I also think Virgil Hill is ranked too highly. He made alot of defenses, but the quality of his opposition was not as good as Saad, Qawi, Mustafa Muhammad. I think Marvin Johnson sneaks in at #10, and Montell Griffin moves out. Griffin didn't really beat Jones, and the Toney fights were extremely close, tedious affairs.
