We all know about the P4P Glass Chin Rankings ESB releases. They are great, we love to check the chins here on ESB, but lets get real guys. Sometimes, its not about just knowing where the worst chins are. I'm tired of seeing lists that include guys like Judah and RJJ. These men are almost completely out of the boxing picture. I wanna see BIG NAMES that are still somewhat relevant but, don't the strength of their chin doesn't exceed their relevancy. The best examples right now I think are: 1: Amir Khan 2: Adrien Broner 3eonte Wilder 4: Austin Trout 5:Badou Jack 6avid Price 7:J' Leon Love 8:Lamont Peterson 9:Rigo (Hate to say it, one of my favorite fighters but his chin isn't all that) 10:Mickey Bey All of these men's hype exceed their chin. Some are being billed as the next great thing, getting big fights, but don't have the mandible to back it up... Others are hyped because they are good fighters, but their chin just doesn't even come close to their skill. Stop beating dead horses with RJJ and Zab Judah... There is a new generation of glass... And it WILL be shattered. :deal It's irrefutable.
Disagree on Petersen, I don't think he has a bad chin really, went 12 with Garcia who hits hard plus I don't think he has any hype around him. As for Broner, he is way over hyped but he hasn't got a glass chin either.
What makes Broner have a glass chin? A former Super Featherweight champ moved up 4 weight classes and fought toe to toe with one of the biggest punchers at that weight class and survived to the final bell. That takes guts. That's like GGG going up to Cruiserweight and absorb bombs from Lebby.
LOL Amir Khan was able to take those "Bombs" from Maidana. I find it funny you have no problem with Khan on the list but take issue with Broner. Can you say agenda?
Khan has been starched by quite a few guys though...Broner has been knocked down by a Maidana in the form of his life. I hate Broner too, but the guy does not have a poor chin.
Lamont and Broner shouldn't be on there. I have no problem with everyone else, even Trout and Rigodeaux who I hold in fairly high regard.
Broner needs to be above Khan. Everyone saw Maidana putting him down at will and making him try and quit. He couldn't do that to a drained Khan. Also the hype was far more ridiculous Khan was at best compared to the next Nass, whereas Broner to Mayweather, and it's fair ro say Khan has come a lot closer to Naz than Broner ever will to Mayweather, and has also faired much better against mutual foes.
Broner has to be KO'd before I put him above Khan, but his mandible is pure eggshell. Just can't quite rate him there til I see him properly sprawled out on the canvas.
This. Broner has eaten quite a good many flush shots without being buzzed compared to Khan. EDIT: And the whole point of this is chin to hype ratio. Nobody out there hypes Broner anymore and the vast majority of us never viewed him as anything too special in the first place. Khan on the other hand still has a loyal fan base of seeming publicists.
He's fought two guys his own size his entire career when he's not been taking PEDs to get down in weight. Malignaggi lol and Maidana, who dropped him twice. To put that in prespective that's twice as many times as Maidana put these guys down combined: - Mayweather over two fights - Glass chinned drained Khan - Shot one eyed Morales - Average Alexander - Khan punch bag Koletniyik - DeMarcus Corley (who Matthysse dropped 9 times) It's irrefutable. Broner has no chin. NONE
:nod Also Broner's hype ATM is down. After losing to Porter I think he is a B level fighter in the minds of the public. But he is worse than even the casuals perceive him... Khan on the other hand is on more of an upswing, hasn't lost since 2012...
