Ramos was not eligible to contest the Mexican title what does that tell you?
A short while ago you and your idiot sidekick Mendozy were saying Fitz wasn't eligible for the Euro fighters list because he never fought in Europe.
Stop Press! Ramos never fought in Mexico! personally I'd classify Ramos as Mexican ,I'm just pointing out how you and your silly mate move the gaol posts.

I will consider wasting my time on that tedious task as soon as you show me one other person who agrees with you that Miguel Angel Gonzalez is in the top 10.

Fitz was born in England and emigrated to NZ and then Australia he spent a total of 17 years in the two countries,He moved to America in1890 and lived there for the rest of his life ,29 years ,he became an American citizen in1893. My point was that he was born in the UK .Just as Ramos was NOT born in Mexico!

Leaving aside Alvarez as he is still active, my ten fighters of Mexican heritage would be, in no order.
    Chavez
    Canto
    Lopez
    Sanchez
    Olivares
    Zarate
    Ortiz M
    Morales
    Barrera
    Saldivar
    Sub Marquez
I don't feel qualified to rank them in order.

Fitzsimmons left Australia in 1890 and had his first fight in the USA in California on May the 17th of that year he spent a little less than 17 years in New Zealand and Australia.

    • Born in England in 1863. His family moved to New Zealand in 1873 and settled in Timaru.
    • Won an amateur boxing tournament organised by legendary pugilist Jem Mace at Timaru in 1880.
    • Moved to Australia in 1883. Fought for the Australian middleweight title but lost to Mick Dooley.
    • In the United States Defeated Nonpareil Jack Dempsey by a 13th-round knockout to win the World Middleweight Championship in 1891.
    • Took out US citizenship in 1893.

If I’m not mistaken didn’t Fitzsimmons himself refer to himself as a proud cornishman?

So you are basing your point on the fact Fitzsimmons wasn’t the champion of a belt that wasn’t around for him to fight for? Interesting.

    Ra:

The question was name your top 10 best Mexican Fighters ever. You listed Gonzalez at #10. I stated I would list the numerous Mexicans better than Gonzalez as soon as you found one single person to agree with that top 10 ranking. You failed to do so. Then you take things to an even more ridiculous level by indicating that you think Gonzalez (the same Gonzalez that went life and death with the likes of Lamar Murphy) might be one of the greatest Lightweight fighters of all time. If this is your knowledge base, you are not worthy of debate.

Fitzsimmons visited Great Britain in1909 giving exhibitions. He did a benefit for Gypsy Jem Mace and attended the Iron Hague v Sam Langford fight on May24th 1909.
He was made an honorary member of the National Sporting Club in Covent Garden that evening. Can we now perhaps get back to the thread? This is three threads you and your stupid pal have ****ed up inside two weeks!

Well, it’s incredibly difficult to win a title that isn’t in existence. What did he say when he got a world title shot? “Oh no I want them to invent a European title in a few years”? Was he from the future?

Why is Carlos Zarate ranked so highly?
