Top 10 Mexican fighters right now?

01 - Jaun Manuel Marquez. A given? Marquez has been world class for so long it's hard to dispute his sitting atop the pile of Mexicans currently.

02 - Juan Francisco Estrada. Brilliant performance this weekend. Only recent loss is to Roman Gonzalez in a fight that, should it be rematched, is the stuck on best fight boxing can make, Mayweather-Pacquiao eat your heart out.

03 - Canelo Alvarez. The push he's getting from some corners (Golden Boy owned Ring) is a bit obscene but he's a young and really could become as special as Oscar is pretending he is.

04 - Miguel Vazquez. It might not be purty, and some might even say that he's been overhauled by Crawford in his resident lightweight division, but Vazquez looks like an absolute ******* of a fighter to beat. Nobody at lightweight outside of the American looks capable of taking him, and Crawford most definitely isn't onto a sure thing if he decides to tangle with Titere.

05 - Leo Santa Cruz. 27-0-1 is a nice record to have, and with a win over weirdo Cristian Mijares under his belt, he seems ready to turn a corner in terms of competition - not that Seda, Terrazas, Munos and Guevara is a shoddy grouping, his resume is definitely underrated.

06 - Edgar Sosa. OK, he got bashed by Yaegashi, he beat Segura, Solis.

07 - Jhonny Gonzalez. Just won't ****ing go away.

08 - Francisco Rodriguez Jnr. Did he actually set a record for punches thrown last time out against Takayama? Or did it just look like he'd shown the best engine in arguably the entire sport? Rodriguez is fun to watch, the best 105lb fighter in the world and on the ascendancy.

09 - Carlos Molina (154lbs). Virtually unbeaten since 2007, because **** that freaky nonsense DQ. Draw with Lara now looks at least reasonable, but he's not breaking popcorn and I think he generally gets overrated a wee bit.

10 - Hugo Ruiz. Ruiz was unlucky, as everyone is unlucky, against Koki Kameda at the end of 2012. Other than that, he has no meaningful losses. Big, big domestic dust up coming against Andres Guiteirrez the winner of that one can push on.

I would probably have Carlos Molina above Rodriguez Jr.

Wins over Takayama and Sabillo are great but the division is thin. Molina's performances against the likes of Chavez Jr, Lara, Cintron, Kirkland and Smith make him arguably the toughest guy on paper for Mayweather—the very best fighter in the world.

And I LOVE Miguel Vazquez. But LW is ****. I don't think his resume is better than Sosa's wins in that division or Gonzalez KO1 a pound-for-pounder (at least top 15, at the time) like Abner Mares.

05. Edgar Sosa
06. Jhonny Gonzalez
07. Carlos Molina
08. Miguez Vazquez

Mares, per usual, is an anomaly.
