I am mostly aware of Mexican boxers from the late 1970s or more recent. I've read stories about some of the great old time Mexican boxers, but I just can't remember very many of their names. Here's who I came up with (fewer than 10, but it's who comes to mind)

    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Ricardo Lopez
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Eric Morales
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Ruben Olivares
Oscar De La Hoya (I know he was born in Los Angeles, but I'll include him due to his ancestry)

That is what is so great about him. He couldn't sing yet his voice was unique (no homo). I have all those mentioned artists on my Ipod but one 1-2 songs for each, I got about 10 or so songs for Elizalde, lots of plays. :good

Never heard of Viente Saldivar?, Miguel Canto?, Carlos Zarate? All 3 better and more accomplished than Vargaz who is Mexican-American, and Rafa Marquez, do some research on them,

Viente Saldivar Top 5 Featherweight of All Time
Carlos Zarate Top 5 Bantamweight of All Time
Miguel Canto Top 5 Flyweight of All Time

Yeah, he clearly belongs... just having a hard time remembering names from so far back. While these guys are great, they rarely come up in conversation so their names aren't always on the tip of my tongue. My bad... add Sanchez to my list.
