    Funny, I was just thinking about doing more research on classic Mexican boxing. I will. Believe it or not, I have been a hardcore boxing fan since around 94, first got into it around 1991, but I have never really researched old boxing. Sanchez and olivares I know about cause them being dads favorite.

    Just kidding, for real though I like seeing these lists, have a few good ones listed. I dont know enough history to make a respectable list.

    I'll try for a top 10. If you guys don't agree, go walk on nails. It's my list and it's the correct one.

    1. Julio Cesar Chavez
    2. Vicente Saldivar
    3. Ruben Olivares
    4. Jose Luis Castillo
    5. Salvador Sanchez
    6. Jose Luis Ramirez
    7. Miguel Canto
    8. Juan Manuel Marquez
    9. Rodolfo Casanova
    10. Giovanni Segura

    I had trouble keeping some guys off, but Segura beat the Puerto Rican Pep when he was undefeated. Barrera and Morales never beat a fighter comparable to Willie Pep, so I think it's only logical to rate Segura a little bit higher. Especially when you factor in nutritional advances, one could make the case Calderon was actually an advanced Willie Pep. Probably with better agility and balance too thanks to the athletic training and drills Pep didn't have. However, If Morales can beat Mayweather, Marquez, Pacquiao, and Martinez, that sheer quantity of good fighters might be able to trump Segura's quality of wins.

    Honorable mentions to Jose Luis Castillo, Chiquita Gonzales, Alfonso Zamora, Pipino Cuevas, and Rafael Marquez IMO top 15. Arizmendi, Pintor, Casanova, Jose Luis Ramirez, and Chucho Castillo top 20. Pajarito Moreno, Cesar Bazan, Raton Macias, Jose Luis Lopez, and Daniel Zaragoza round out the top 25.

    I know that I'm in the minority but I would put Sanchez in front of JCC. I like both fighters a lot but I think that even though Sanchez has less fights he has more wins against HOFs and he has a win against a top tier ATG fighter in Gomez in a very commanding fashion

    the comparison between Calderon and Willi Pep somehow makes me feel uneasy. Also Castillo in front of Sanchez is amazing :)
