Are you serious. Mythical match ups - anything, you can have anything. You're offering up Ken Norton v Max Schmelling. I'm not sure you'd fill the arena.

Tyson v Ali is the obvious one. But there are wars to be had - Tyson v Frazier. There are truths to be established: Marciano v Ali for example. Wow - Tyson v Young George Foreman. Jack Dempsey v Smokin' Joe.

Ken Norton wouldn't get short listed.

Louis vs. Marciano -- which of the two gallant champions is the better?
Louis vs. Dempsey -- who is the better puncher, the better fighting machine?
Marciano vs. Frazier -- heart vs. heart
Dempsey vs. Marciano -- searing showdown of the great sluggers
Jeffries vs. Johnson -- can Jeff erase Johnson's Golden Smile?

in my opinion the best are....
Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali vs Mike Tyson(competitive because stylistical motives)

Joe Louis vs Larry Holmes (not very competitive, just to show the limits of Holmes)

George Foreman vs Mike tyson( it does not need explanation, the 2 most destructive machines in the history of boxing ).

smokin Joe Frazier vs Rocky Marciano(in order to show to the rocky fans that Marciano never proved to have a better chin than frazier(simply he faced bigger punchers and better guys than Rocky did ), and to prove also that joe frazier was a better version of Marciano (with some differences)faster, more skilled, more accurate puncher and he was naturally 20 pounds bigger(not fat, frame), and he had as much stamina and heart.

Evander Holyfield vs Muhammad Ali (.in order to show that the real deal would have been a real test for the greatest)

 

Ali vs. Louis- The best against the other best.

Ali vs. Tyson- Cocky, mouthy GOAT against crazy beast Kid Dynamite. Fireworks, anybody?

Louis vs. Tyson- Trip hammer punches thrown perfect and short against some of the fastest hooks and uppercuts in the divisions history. Somebody is getting put on a highlight reel.

Louis vs. Holyfield- War.

Holyfield vs. Marciano- War.

Holmes vs. Tunney- I would LOVE to see how these two mixed for a high paced technical duel.

Marciano vs. Floyd Patterson- We were JUST robbed of this one, and I really think it would have been one of the better changing of the guard fights ever.

Those are the only ones I can think of that I feel confident would be truly entertaining and dynamic. Plenty of treats for the purists in other fights.

Both men have different advantages. Charles in speed and skill, Sullivan in weight and power. Charles is was a little taller. I think this would be a tough bout because Sullivan would be all over him punching hard similar to Maricano.

I think this would be a fight against to evenly sized and skilled fighter. (Bowe at 235 still gave up 15 pounds to Lewis.) Not sure how this starts but I wonder if Bowe would be able to get close and run off his inside combinations or would he try and box with Lennox.

Right hands will be flying. Does Schmeling have the toughness and cleverness to deal with the hard punching Baer when he is dead serious?

I think this is a pretty good match up. Would Wladimir's chin be able to stand up the serious power of Liston and still be able stick and move?
