Not an original thread, exactly, but ah well.

1998-2008. Who are they? And where do they rank all time?

I haven't dont a list in bloody months, for anything, except shopping.

Haven't even seen a fight since DLH-PBF... But I'll give it a go.

Actually no I won't. Clarify - do you mean resume's of the last 10 years, or fighters who have fought inthe last 10 years but include their pre-1998 resume?

I'll give it a go (baring in mind their careers before 1998 need to be included)

    1. RJJ
    2. Mayweather
    3. Lennox Lewis
    4. Holyfield
    5. Toney
    6. Hopkins
    7. Delahoya
    8. Mosley
    9. Barrera
    10. Pacman

    No 1 dimensional Trinidad shouldn't make top10

A compromise: Fighters in their prime during the last 10 years. They may have had fights before 1998, but they were not in their prime until 1998 and beyond.

These are the fighters I would put in the top 10 without hesitation...
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Bernard Hopkins
    Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
    Roy Jones, Jr.
    Lennox Lewis
    Shane Mosley
    Manny Pacquiao
    Oscar De La Hoya

These are the fighters I am having trouble deciding over to finish off the top 10
    Erik Morales
    Kostya Tszyu
    Felix Trinidad
    Winky Wright
    James Toney
    Juan Manuel Marquez

If Joe Calzaghe beats Mikkel Kessler, I would put him in my top 10, but not yet.

    1. Floyd Mayweather
    2. Bernard Hopkins
    3. Shane Mosley
    4. Marco Antonio Barrera
    5. Oscar De la Hoya
    6. Manny Pacquiao
    7. Erik Morales
    8. Winky Wright
    9. Lennox Lewis
    10. Joe Calzaghe

Roy Jones is not on the list because he was already out of his prime during the majority of time since 1998.

Where do they rank all time (estimation):

Mayweather....Top35 All Time, #1 Super Featherweight
    Hopkins...Top35 All Time, Top4 Middleweights
    Mosley....Top60
    Barrera...haven't thought about it.
Oscar de la Hoya...Top40, Top15 Welterweights, Top10 Light Middleweights
    Manny Pacquiao...haven't thought about it.
    Erik Morales....don't know.
    Lennox Lewis....Top5 Heavyweights.
    Joe Calzaghe....Top3 Super Middleweights.

    *Jones...Top20 of all time

Good picks. However, I would not include James Toney. All his good work was done in the early 90's.

That's a good point - and why I was on the fence with him. In the past 10 years, he has beaten Jirov and a worn-out Holyfield, so I would probably place him in the top 15 or so. Had this included careers pre-1997, he would be in my top 10.

I would put Barrera and Morales in the top 75 of all time. I don't agree with De La Hoya in the top 40 or Mosley in the top 60. Mayweather is a little too high for my liking.
