Who's in your top 10 list of boxers who were the hardest P4P hitters ever?

McClellan who banged out a couple of much smaller, past prime and not durable straight on fighters? Shockingly overrated as a fighter and as a banger IMO, though he was clearly a big puncher.

That's my thinking. Aesthetically I can see; he could hit.

But would he have been a massive hitter at 175?

For me his scalps do not prove him as a great P4P puncher. I'd rate Avelar over him as a pure hitter, no doubt.

I also assume you mean Lew Jenkins? If so, his reputation would lend credibility to him being just that.

you could make a fine list with these names (though as flea pointed out, you probably meant jenkins)

baer is a great puncher but a TAD overrated at times.

i would consider saddler (still need to learn more about his opposition though), and satterfield to

    I'll roll with

    Jackson
    Langford
    Hearns
    Louis
    Foster
    Fitzsimmons
    Tyson
    Avelar
    Olivares
    Fitzsimmons
    Tyson

    In no particular order.

McGrain are you not including Louis because he was more an all-round puncher rather than a pure hitter? Because if so, 'Bazooka' Gomez fits into the same category.

As it stands, both worthy inclusions IMO.

Sure, you could also argue Wilde, Saddler, Walcott, Papke, Louis...Robinson, Olivares, Zarate, Marciano, Baer, Graziano, Armstrong, Ike Williams, LausseDanny Lopez and even dudes like Shephard, Elmar Ray, Burley, Roy Jones, Nigel Benn, Chalky White, Cleveland Williams. I wasn't exluding Louis so much as writing ten different names.

Banged people out, savagely, from fly to super bantam. A huge monster of a fly but he iced Vasquez @122, which wasn't impossible but proved he wasn't Jay a G-Man esque bully (same day weigh in's as well)

Watch his bouts with Shoji Oguma, Tae-Shik Kim and Wilfredo Vasquez, all on YouTube. Also, check out his K.O of some guy called Rocky Mijares, lesser level but destructive nonetheless.

He's my representative for the midgets, simply because there is no footage of Wilde stopping anyone :good

That was what I assumed, just something I'd heard before (kinda' similar to how Archie Moore sometimes gets left out of 'pure power' discussions)

****!!! I forgot Arguello, he's in my top 5 :deal

:-( Obviously something in the air for no one to mention him.

Would he make your top 5?

I wouldn't even like to say. Off the top of my head I guess maybe not but who knows? You definitely rate him the best of the featherweight punchers?
