WHO you beat is absolutely critical to the rankings. If all you fight are bums, then you'll look unstoppable (Spence). All of the fighters I listed are highly skilled.
Until he fights the guy who is 0-0 in professional boxing contests, Mayweather is, strictly speaking, inactive.
Walters better than Bradley? Sosa better than Vargas? Postol better than Bradley? Diaz is equal to Vargas.
Also, why is Srisaket Sor Rungvisai not on anyone's theoretical P4P lists? The guy did beat Roman Gonzalez.
I'm not disregarding those wins - my last wrong prediction on boxing/mma was me picking Vargas - he can box imo. It depends on your definition of p4p...Crawford is clearing out the division. Loma seems to be on his way to special things. PAC is facing Horn - nothing against Horn...he's an undefeated fighter...but Loma & Crawford are facing the best in their respective division
P4P is about how boxers perform in the ring, particularly in recent bouts. How impressive they are, the quality of their punches, how skilled they are in blocking punches, how impressive their knockouts are. Fighting top opposition and performing well vs top opposition is very important, but that's highly debatable. P4P is about how a boxer performs in the ring, how impressive he is in recent performances, and certainly how a boxer handles various styles and certainly how he handles high level opponents. You don't create a P4P list by staring at a piece of paper and looking at someone's opponents. It's not really about wins and losses, because as you can see that's highly subject and detable. It's their skills and their performances, with fighters getting an additional boost from performing well vs top opposition.
I think I hit the criteria for what you deem to be a legitimate list. Please look at my list and tell me who shouldn't be on it and why.
You are leaving two of the best boxer out Ward and Rigo, undefeated fighters you need some glasses. Have some nobody knows them lousy top 10.
