Calzaghe is ranked higher P4P than ever before in the past... so what makes you think all those Euro bums he beat earlier in his career puts him in the top 10? So dumb
I've got to admit that I've never heard of Pernell Whitaker, yet 2 of you guys have ranked him No1. I could go and look him up on wikipedia but I'm not going to So who is he?
I have no problem at all with Tito being in there, but c'mon. #2? It looks like he based that list solely on the official outcomes of the fighter's head to head meetings. The Cobra's list is pretty much on point, as always.
I'm not getting into an argument with someone who won't be convinced. Calzaghe is definitely in the top 10 p4p in the last 20 years in my opinion. I don't think he makes top 5 but he quite easily gets in the top 10 and there are others such as McCallum and Trinidad who I have no trouble whatsover putting him over.
You're a bit new to boxing eh? He's the man in my avatar, Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker. One of the best defensive masters in the history of the sport, arguably the most versatile and skilled pure boxer to ever lace up the gloves, and the most accomplished fighter of the last 25 years. He is my favorite fighter, but understand I say all of this without bias, as you'll find that the majority of posters agree with me in that sense. He was that good.
:yep This is probably the best Highlight video on youtube. Greatest fighter since prime Ray Leonard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjTHLPmfBCQ
Chavez is too high. If it was a list of the best of the last 25 years, then your placing of him would be somewhat justified. But the last 20 years excludes his super-featherweight days and also his brilliant showing against Rosario at lightweight. And lets not for that Chavez's resume is very thin after 1990 anyway. Camacho was probably his best win. Whitaker, Randall, and De La Hoya all outboxed him or outright beat him up. Chavez does have longevity. But not with significant wins when deep into his career. Unlike fighters like Hopkins and what Duran did during the 80's when he was over 30. I do take into consideration that Chavez was a fighter with substantial mileage.
