although ive watched boxing from afar for a few years ive only got into boxing properly in the last year or so,im now trying to absorb as much as possible, but any thoughts on the top 10 pound for pound punchers in the last 20 years?
in no particular order my very very amatuerish list would be: prince naz mike tyson nigel benn trinidad pacquiao tsyzu barrerra kelly pavlik roy jones? joe calzaghe haha any thoughts would love too see your lists
Julian Jackson Gerald McClellan Raf Marquez Ezra Sellers Wlad Acelino Freitas Jorge Arce Ricardo Lopez Edwin Rosario(best work is a little out of the timeframe) Micheal Spinks Antonio Esparragoza Diego Corrales Khaosai Galaxy John Mugabi David Tua Are other names you should probably consider...
to be honest id never heard of julian jackson but he shows up on 2 peoples lists so il do abit research now:good i think im got a bit of a knowledge void between about 1980-95 atsch
Julian had ridiculous power. Easily number 1 of the last 20 yrs imo. Do yourself a massive favour and put his name in a youtube search and be amazed.
Never heard of Jackson? He oughta be the consensus #1 for this list. Otherwise most of the names are covered. Hamed Tyson Jackson McClellan Benn Trinidad Galaxy Moon Tua Spinks
would foreman merit a place , certainly in his heyday he was a massive puncher but did he carry it through enough in the 90's to be named up there ?probably not.
there's a good argument for this. and sure tua was over-rated, but moreso in overall effectiveness. punch for punch i can not definitively say anyone hit harder.
