1. Gennady "GGG" Golovkin 2. Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev 3. Adonis "Superman" Stevenson 4. Wladimir "Dr Steelhammer" Klitschko 5. Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire 6. Lucas "The Machine" Matthysse 7. Keith "One Time" Thurman 8. Jhonny "Bombardero" Gonzalez 9. Roman "El Chocolatito" Gonzalez 10. Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder Thoughts?
1 should be Deontay Wilder 100% KO rate 31 fights. No one can last 4 rounds with Wilder. Where's Ali Raymi? 20 KO, 20 fights, all in the 1st round :think Take out Lucas, the dude's power is overrated against decent comp
I stopped reading after "1 should be Wilder"...But nah he'd be ranked higher but the authenticity of his Knockouts are questionable.
Uchiyama and Ioka deserve some respect here. Maidana as well... Solid enough list, though. Wilder can def get the boot, though, as can Thurman to make room for the couple more I've listed. I'm sure there's one or two more guys I'm forgetting worth that short list...
No. Ioka's body shot KO of long time #1 and undefeated Oleydong (Oleydong >>> A. Hernandez) would be more impressive than any stoppage of Hernandez at this point. It's already been done by a much lesser foe (although a solid one in Kompayak). Ioka has scored aesthetically pleasing KO's in all of his fights since Oleydong spare for tough top 10 opponents in Hernandez, Yaegashi, and Alvarado. While he likely doesn't have the raw P4P power, he gets the job done. I'm not eating the punches, so I can't give an opinion beyond what I see and value.
As a pure one punch ko guy it's Stevenson num 1 at the moment, ggg,kov and a lot of other heavy punchers break their opponents down through sheer number of shots, donaire is another one who has scary one hit ok power
1.Stevenson 2.Kovalev 3.Golovkin 4.Provodnikov 5.Stiverne 6.Kessler 7.Maccarinelli 8.Lebedev 9.Wlad 10.Matthysse
When Wilder knocks people out, its questionable When Kovalev/GGG/Lucas/Wlad knocks people out, its all legit I think I know where this thread is going. Deontay Wilder- 100% KO rate, 31/31..... There is no topping that If Deontay isn't #1 on your list, it's invalid.
Lebedev hasn't fought in over a year so that disqualifies him, essentially... I found his power to always have been overrated. I'm not sure which legit opponents he has displayed amazing punching power against that would make him worthy of making the short list of top power punchers. Enzo Mac? I'm not even going to respond to that. You rank Enzo higher than Wladimir. No credibility. Kessler is also approaching one year of inactivity, but more importantly, he has the retirement post-Froch I and while he looked like a monster puncher against Medhi Boudala, I will hold off on listing him in the top 25 power punchers today, let alone top 10. That's just random listing him. I've never heard people anoint him as some lethal puncher, at least not for many years. Stiverne... Hmm... Yeah he KD'd and broke Arreola's nose. That was cool. But the dude has only ever fought a handful of fighters that could be classified as remotely relevant, so there is no way at all a guy like him can make this list. He was getting beaten up by Ray Austin until Austin decided to turn his head and eat an extremely awkward punch on the temple. It was a totally legit KO. But we are talking about Ray Austin. And not even 2006 Ray Austin. --- Listing any of Kessler, Enzo, Stiverne, or Lebedev, let alone all of them, = trolling or fanboy-ism to the extreme.
