Where's Pernell? Probably the greatest of the bunch, ARGUABLY outside JCC.

Cotto in there already? I wouldn't say so. Even heavy's like a Lennox Lewis and certainly Evander Holyfield (in the p4p sense, not that he's greater than Lennox) deserve a mention before him.

FMJ stands for Floyd Mayweather Junior. Whitaker's the main guy missing from that list.

Yes no Whitaker i would have had him my 80s list as i think he peaked in the late 80s, I rate Whitaker extremely highly in my top 20favourite fighters ever. Ye i agree with Cotto out over Lennox i was considering this from the start but i think Cotto has a better skillset than Lennox

I would understand an argument that said Whitaker peaked in 1993

Cotto in no way has a better skillset than Lewis. There are very few all-time that have a significant stylistic advantage over a prime Lewis, because he has such an all-round game, albeit too defensively minded at times

I can think of countless I favour over Cotto

    My sure picks are:
    Whitaker
    Chavez
    Jones Jr
    Lewis
    Holyfield

    Under consideration:
Lopez, Mayweather, Toney, Hopkins, De La Hoya, Barrera, Morales, Calzaghe

Whitaker did the better work than Chavez from 1990-on, though. Whitaker had wins over Nelson, McGirt twice, Pineda, Vasquez, the draw with Chavez, and a very close fight with De La Hoya that could've gone either way.

Chavez also probably peaked around 1987-88 at lightweight. I don't think he ever looked as good as he did against Rosario.

I would take Cotto out, it's too early, and add maybe a Lewis or Holyfield.

Lennox should be in there....so should Sweet P.

Having Cotto in there at this point is laughable.

    Maybe in 3 years....
