The Pedroza fight I would of thought, was the most watched, I cannot believe otherwise. It was also the most anticipated. The feeling was McGuigan should beat the old man, but there was apprehension, as pretty much every fighter over the previous two years, had, had the same feeling...

LaPorte was considered a bit past it going into their bout, but it soon became clear to everyone how tough it was going to be for McGuigan (a draw would of been a fair result).

Taylor was considered a genuine threat, but the fight was very disappointing.

Cabrera was totally unknown, but you thought he was going to be a soft touch, but he proved otherwise giving McGuigan a tough fight.

The Cruz fight was kind of off the radar. As a late Sub the build up was weak, and with the fight being in the States, there was no prime time TV, it was thought McGuigan would cruise ;) through...

I understand that ...... but HALF the UK population!

And if those figures back in the original post are to be believed and Ali was so huge (which I know he was as I'm old enough to have watched Ali-Frazier 1) ..................... how come Ali's name doesn't appear again ....... did fights such as Ali-Frazier 2 & 3, Ali-Foreman, Ali-Bugner 1 & 2, Ali-Dunn etc really attract less than 10.1 million?

Speaking to the old man (I was born in 74), who loved his boxing. He says that you rarely got a live Ali fight on TV. Highlights yes, on Grandstand or World of Sport, but if you wanted to watch an Ali, Foster, Monzon or Duran, basically it was Closed Circuit or nothing. He says he went to the Cinema to watch Ali/FrazierI, he seems to think it was not on live on TV.

I'm fairly certain it wasn't live on tv too ........ though I remember the fight taking place on a school-night, as opposed to a weekend.

Whether it was the full 15 rounds or highlights, Grandstand or WoS, following night or following weekend ...... I can't remember.
