thats not what I was saying. I pointed out that he is comparing a small island nation with only around 50 HWs based in it compared to several countries and also pointed out how they have to often fight many tougher fights earlier on that I doubt many of those other fighters based elsewhere would have to.
Regardless of how much goes in to the amateurs. If you are saying there are only going to be say 4 HWs of a similar age coming from the UK, and who will all end up fighting so as only one becomes considered a contender, then it is one fighter compared to many considered contenders, whereas if the say 4 fighters were in 4 different countries, they would likely not have to face such a tough fight as early and possibly all reach a higher contender status

Possibly. Im not saying that may not be the case, but for a HW to often get out of just being considered British level, they have to take tougher local derbys, where one often has to lose and the other who may be world rated, doesnt get rated as highly as an undefeated prospect form another country who has not had to go through such a tough fight

If you look at say these undefeated British title fights below

    Fury/Chisora
    both 14-0-0

    Joshua/Whyte
    14-0 & 16-0 respectively

    Dubois/Gorman
    11-0 & 16-0 respectively

    Coming next

    Dubois/Joyce
    14-0 & 10-0 respectively

These fighters just to get a shot of being considered above British level to many casuals have to have these, what could be big set back fights and yes probably do get a title shot a bit quicker for taking such risks in a big fight with possibly not always as big a reward in some cases

Hrgovic is 10-0 like Joyce but look at the big fight Joyce is having to take for the British title.
Joyce/Dubois whether an easy fight or hard fight for either has people split as to who they think would win and is a big challenge for both.

Now the loser may well be set back for a time, and then would not be thought of as highly as an undefeated prospect who hasnt taken as big a challenge

Nonsense. Russia and Ukraine have some of the best amateur programs in the world. The worlds #1 HW Fury is a product of his environment and generations of fighting men, nothing to do with funding etc.

Hrgovic is aggressive and wants to trade and land, that's the main reason he has been hit and nothing that landed hurt him or changed his plans for a second. Hrgovic = A+ chins, never down or stoped in the amateurs or pros. I do agree he needs to train a little harder.

As for the rest, Dubois I think is more sizzle than substance. I think Joyce rolls him. We'll see.

Yoka is chinny and does't like being hit, plus he was busted on PED's. Outside of that he's a top boxer.

Ajagaba took a step back , but the size and tools are there.

He will be on the Joyce vs Dubois undercard. To bad he’s only in second pro fight it will be a really light touch . Always good to have a stacked heavyweight card.

Fury used both Joyce and Adeleye separate for the two Wilder fights . Would like to know who both DDD and Joyce are using for sparring partners ?

Names like Joyce, Hrgovic, Makhmudov, Majidov, Dychko, Jalolov ... are proven hard guys, experienced and successful amateurs, as well as in the WSB with a great scor and dangerous for everyone, it's not easy to beat them. On the other hand, boxers like Dubois, Gorman, Ajagba, Milas, Bakole, Huge Fury .... are nowhere near as experienced and are a big question mark

Tony Yoka was a great amateur too, but poor in the WSB and repeatedly knocked out in his career. But he can box and can be dangerous to anyone.
In the Joyce-Dubois match, I favor Joyce, though Dubois can handle it with a knockout. But Dubois hasn't boxed against a boxer like Joyce yet.

    Hughie Fury isn't experienced?
The guy is 25, a former world youth champion, and has fought Joseph Parker, Kubrat Pulev and Alexander Povetkin.

He might not be elite, but theres hardly question marks about him.

Huge Fury has only one amateur match, out of 24 professional matches there may be only 10 real matches, the rest were boxing bags, ordinary training sessions. He has some experience now, but he entered in the Parker match quite inexperienced.
Hrgovic has 30 amateur matches in the European Championships, World Championships and Olympics, plus 30 more WSB matches, these are semi-professional 5 rounds and all are hard fights. There are at least a dozen matches with today's Top 50 heavyweight professionals. He went into the professional box very experienced, similar to other great amateur boxers.

You think he only has one amateur fight because that's all that's on boxrec??

Hes a former youth world champion!

Im talking about big official matches, they all have more amateur matches. Look at who are his biggest wins before the match with Parker, all anonymous!
