But as I pointed out-it can go the other way as well. It all depends on the people who are involved the tagging, their customs and their agendas. There is plenty of biased inconsistency involved in this racial tagging business-especially in the USA.

    BTW
Maidana cannot be considered Chinese because he has no Chinese ancestry. Other Latinos who do have Chinese ancestry can be considered racially Chinese. But that does not mean that they are not Latinos.

Yeah, America basically uses a hypodescent system of racial classification, where anyone who has any observable "non-white" racial ancestry is classified as a member of that other group. It's part of the same racist legacy as the "one drop" rule.

Good top ten, I don't like Graham being out of it but can't see whom he should replace.

You should've posted your funny funnies in the "white heavyweights" thread. More people would have seen them. Either that or maybe start your own thread?

A Latino is not necessarily mixed. There are unmixed black Latinos. Unmixed Native American Latinos. Unmixed White Latinos and unmixed Asiatic Latinos. Latino is not a race. It is an ethnicity.

Was this widely known during their lifetimes? If so, it's interesting that the same racial rules didn't apply to them.
