I have about 100 of these lists archived. I'll post a new one every now and then. I have no idea where Burley is. Maybe middle?
Burley had a lot of "over the weight" type matches fighting at 148, 149 etc., if you were being strict you could exclude a lot of his best wins, yeah? But even strict criteria would give him wins over Cocoa Kid and Jimmy Leto. Beat Zivic at 147 and a half though, so you can leave that one off if you want! It's about criteria. Still, though, is his 147 resume worse than Hearns, who makes #4? And if you include over the weight matches, he buries Hearns. And if he's not better than Hearns h2h (he is for me), they are still in the same class...odd. Maybe an oversight.
I'd like to see the middleweight list, if you post it sometime. Thx. Yeah, problably only one fighter per division.
I didn't see Henry Armstrong in that top 100. Too bad, it was not that bad until I saw Hearns at number 4.
I believe that list is from the early 90s, he had many lists in Boxing Illustrated during that time frame
