Man, I love Marciano, I just can't for the life of me place him higher than Frazier, Liston, Holy or even Bowe for that matter. Thanks for posting your list though, and I know what you mean, tommorow you might have a whole different outlook...happens to me often.

I like your extended list and seeing Langford. Would have loved to have seen him fight in later era's where he wouldn't have had to hold back.

Also, I did a thread years ago on Jeffries vs Foreman. Difficult fight to guage given the big difference in time but I picked Jeff based on his stamina and toughness. ho you got?

Get rid of Vitali, replace him with Bowe & the list would look much better imo

Langford was 5'7" or 5'8", so I think he'd get crushed by a lot of guys who came after him.

Well, I do think that both Dempsey and Marciano's offensive motor and granite chins would plow through a lot of the great HW's. I 100% understand the opposite argument, though.

I wish there was more tape of Jeffries. I would have to pick Foreman by early KO, but give Jeffries a good chance of outpointing him in a 20 rounder based on stamina. I really do see Foreman/Frazier I as the mecca to why Foreman is one of the best H2H. I think he does that to almost every fighter in there who isn't his size or larger.

Still, even in H2H, I hold resume in the highest regard. Skillsets and how we value them are what most base it on, but who they employed these "eye test" skillsets against matters most to me, so resume has to hold a great amount of weight here.

I might agree if I just based it off their greatest performance. Overall though Vits always looks pretty solid where as Bowes career was like a rollercoaster.

If this were based on a one fight criteria does anyone think Buster Douglas may redevelopment a spot for his stoppage of Tyson?

Marciano is one of my all time favorite, but I just can't see him or Tunney in a top 10 h2h list. Jmo.

The only man to ever beat Tunney is quite possibly the greatest all around fighter of all time. He also avenged that defeat like 3 times.

Marciano has never been beaten. This is all hypothetical but he has as much or more heart than any man in this list. You cannot discount that.

Yes, but Tunney never showed his skills against elite heavyweights unless you want to count a rusty Dempsey who had 3 years off.

And I agree about the rocks heart. But when I judge h2h I base it on skills shown. And while Rocky's skills are underrated, I just don't see them as being enough to get on MY list. Doesn't detract from his greatness though. I rank him 10th all time at heavy.
